Didn't care for this at all. It actually started off well, it gave me a really good impression as the narration seemed smooth and the world building was well done and I really liked the heroine at first. All those factors created pretty high expectations for when the MC would finally meet but when that moment came everything fell so... flat. I just wanted more, I don't know... more violence, passion, banter or even fights between the two. I never felt the chemistry or sparks between them. The scenes they shared on page were boring and the sex was repetitive to the point I skimmed many pages. Not for me I guess.
Really enjoyed this book! The storyline was interesting with some fantastic world building. The writing was a little choppy at first, but smoothed out. Fast paced with tons of action and characters you grow to love. Can't wait to read the next one!
I was torn between 3-4 stars.. but despite overall being a very enjoyable read - I had more things on the didn't like column..
What I liked: * *mostly* possessive and very protective Hero; * heroine.. Well for about 50% of the book! * 🔥🔥 steamy scenes; * well setup plot about werewolf and human war; * she does try to run away after being kidnapped by H. She is truly afraid and brave without being a bad@ss;
What I didn't like: * I wouldn't label this true enemies to lovers - yes they are from "opposing" sides of war, but they weren't really enemies; * the heroine - initially she was very rational calm and kind and I really liked that. But later she was a bit childish and immature. It lead to some steamy scenes and H called her "brat", which was deserved...But it didn't kind of fit with her rational character in the beginning of the book; * It made no sense to me how H would be OK with the whole pack seeing his "luna" naked in front of the whole pack even if it's their tradition! Just doesn't go with growly and j/p personality..or more ruins that personality! Especially since he encouraged and told her it had to be that way. And he didn't ever indicate any unhappiness for it from his pov. *the way she became "luna" almost instantly and everyone loved and adored her, said how good she is...buuuut...she hasn't done anything??? There was no showing how she is kind when she got to the pack. We were just told that she is. Which was again a bit contradictory as there was more showing when she was forced to work as an engineer for the government. *finally, the plot setup for her being an engineer just got abandoned after she ended up with a pack..whilst initially it was a big part of the whole setup to her character.
Also worth noting, this wasn't really what I'd call dark - it's just a bit "grey" for me😊
Still, I did really enjoy reading this and I believe this is a debut book for the author. I will certainly check out more of her books!

Sienna River Pack is a great debut novel by new author Roma Jane. Ms. Jane's writing style draws you into the world she has created and immerses you in her story. I was hooked from the first chapter!
Amelia, the heroine, is feisty, opinionated, and headstrong, but she also operates under a kind, selfless moral compass. Matias, the hero, is every bit of an alphahole as you'd want him to be. Totally swoon-worthy! As for the steam factor...yes, there is definitely spice!! Prepare yourself for some light BDSM between an over-the-top jealous/possessive hero and his bratty submissive heroine! *fans self*
Ms. Jane spends some time building the world this series is set in, but she does it through the thoughts and actions of her characters rather than rote lecturing. While Sienna River Pack has an HEA and can be read as a standalone, I am definitely coming back for the rest of this series! There are so many side characters I hope to read more about in their own books! Additionally, there is still conflict within the world to be expanded on and (fingers crossed) resolved in future installments of this series.
Overall, if you're a fan of shifter romance, I highly recommend you give Sienna River Pack a read!
It's a debut novel from the author, I loved it. Werewolves are seen as the enemy a abomination by Humans, they hide and blend in with humans. The heroine is working for the government, there she sees a werewolf for the first time as a slave. Then the ride begins 👀, Action, 🔥, Battles... I can't believe this is the debut novel. 🌙 Hero is the Alpha 🌙Very very JP 🌙 Punishment's 😉 🌙Not a doormat heroine, likes to test him ♥️ 🌙Baby girl calling 🌙No OM drama 🌙No OW drama Really enjoyed looking forward to future books in this series.
Easily one of my favourite reads so far this year! I absolutely adore the characters, I adore the tropes, the writing, the banter. It was truly a book I absolutely adored.
Fantastic work by a first time author! Clear and thorough world-building with a charismatic MMC and a FMC who will definitely grow on you. Deliciously steamy, low angst, perfectly wrapped up HEA. Who doesn’t love a growly Alpha wolf? Definitely worth a read - can’t wait for the rest of the series.
I’m blown away that this is a debut book for this author. I was hooked from the first few pages, needing to know more about this world with werewolves. The world building is fantastic. It’s action packed, thrilling and very steamy. Sighhhh Matias is the perfect possessive alpha. I’m excited to see where the series goes and dive deeper into the Sienna River pack.
I really enjoyed this book. The story is about a war between werewolfs and the Alpha's mate is human. The H is quite possessive over the h and their story is sweet, packed with action, steam and romance. I wouldn't say it's enemy to lover and it's not dark, also no triggers which is safe for readers like me :).
I really enjoyed this story and the world building was immediately engaging and held my attention. The writing is a bit disjointed with a lot going on with the transitions. It needed some depth and back story on the H.
I was just in love with how you could see how important the bonds were. Not just to the alpha but the pack. I didn’t want to put this book down. I had to see what happened.
Amelia has been contracted (read: forced and blackmailed) into helping out a cause she doesn’t believe in. When she’s attacked by the “enemy” and kidnapped she dreads what they will do to her.
She doesn’t expect the Alpha to claim her as his mate!
This was a promising start for Roma Jane’s debut novel. I really liked the world building at the start, Amelia’s strong personality and her morals against things she knows aren’t right. Once she was kidnapped it did turn into a little bit of an instalove. I love instalove novels but that’s not the direction I thought the book was going. She was still strong willed but the second half of the novel I thought could be more about the history of the pack, Matias back history etc and more of a lovers to enemies pull.
Overall though, solid effort from Roma and I can see this series will grow ❤️
