In this thriller that was set in Missouri's fictional future Lance was filled with a variety of anxieties, so many to almost leave him unable to function. With mounting problems he was soon given authority over his brothers called "representatives of the rough men," or reps for short. As outside powers used force and persuasion to pull the brothers from Lance he reverted to violence; his only tool when backed in a corner.


Many years later Lance was called to service in Boland (formerly the Ozark Region) to stop an underground alien invasion with his skills as a fighter.
