It's so great that they included the "call for help" thing that the pokemon do in the game. And, daaaaaaang, all those fainted pokemon lying around Lurantis was hilarious. (That probably makes me a bad person, but moving on.)

I just love how Mareanie holds onto Moon. It's so dang sweet. Also, I'm just now realizing that Moon and Mareanie resemble each other a little.

Lillie's anxiety attack felt so real to me. I just love the characterization she's getting. We also find out that Nebby is actually opening the portals to the other world when Lillie gets too stressed.

Everyone sits down to discuss the Ultra Beasts, and it's decided that Lillie and Prof. Burnet should meet up with Sun's group, while the trial captains go "have a little chat" with Team Skull's boss at their hideout. Y'all, Lana's a little scary when she gets focused, and I find myself not really believing her when she says they will try to talk it out first.

The trip to Ula'ula goes drastically wrong with an attack from a totem pokemon. The group gets split up with Sun and Lillie being rescued by Trial Captain Acerola, and Moon with the professors being picked up by the Aether Foundation.

Oh, you can feel that split second where Lillie panics at being called beautiful by Sun before she realizes he's just a kid being nice and not her manipulative mother.

Anyway, Sun is given the task of taking a photo of the totem pokemon in the destroyed Megamart, but he starts off on the wrong foot by trash talking Mimikyu right in front of it. Mimikyu gets pissed (obviously) and lashes out, and I can't even say anything about Sun using the Z-move on Mimikyu's costume because I did the same freaking thing. Wobble wobble thunk.

I liked this book more than book 2. It's either Sun has a crush on Lillie, or Lillie has a crush on Sun.
