Wendy Hamilton grew up in New Zealand. As a child, she showed considerable promise in the area of writing stories and drawing pictures. Her teachers noted the ‘alive’ quality of her work. In 1986 she married her husband Ian, and they had four children whom Wendy homeschooled. A gifted patch-worker with a flair for interior decorating, Wendy ran a patchwork store, A Patch of Heaven for several years before turning her attention to writing and drawing.
Wendy’s writing and art are heavily influenced by the way she lives her life. Her belief that beauty should be combined with utility has led to an extensive understanding of antique appliances. She can cook on a coal range and sew with a treadle sewing machine.
Wendy believes that the home is the holiest place on earth. Her books are a celebration of everyday occurrences elevated to splendor by kindness, love, and devotion to God.

Silly in a british way. Light hearted and just what I needed between heavier more serious books.
