Destiny eagerly awaits her cousin Lola's birthday bash, as they share a bond over various activities. However, upon arrival, Destiny feels sidelined when Lola engages with her friends, leaving Destiny feeling excluded. As Lola receives numerous gifts and attention, Destiny experiences pangs of envy. She sketches a teddy bear companion in her sketchbook, and to her astonishment, her aunt presents her with an identical teddy that comes to life when they're alone. While Destiny enjoys playing with the bear, it's not the same as playing with Lola. Will Destiny manage to join the festivities?
I won a signed copy so had to read it myself before passing onto an actual child to read. It's a great short story that teaches about jealousy and sharing but not in a heavy handed way.
