This book weaves an elaborate science fantasy through a fabric of injustice. You will fall in love with the characters - most of them. You will ponder the same question Ronan asked in the car that dark night as he thought about his housing-insecure classmates, "Who will make things right in a world where so much is wrong?"

This book explains the hardships people in poverty encounter like the ignorance from people of higher class and the cruelty of greedy rich people. I normally don’t like the trope of a person or creature coming into the life’s of someone and magically make their life better; however this trope normally involves a person who usually isn’t really struggling. Luckily this story differs from other stories that use this trope. This book involves a family that actually earns the right to the powers they gain by being kind and helping others without expecting anything in return. I highly recommended this book has beautiful illustrations for each chapter and the characters are lovable.

Just when I was really getting into the book, it ended! I'm ready for more. Can't wait for the next chapter of Kursid family adventure. This book draws the reader in to the characters quickly so that you get to know them and care about them. And at the same time, it touches on some important societal topics and challenges that we face - homelessness, poverty, greed, wealth inequality, and more. The beauty and tragedy of the story is that there is no solution presented where everyone lives happily ever after, instead, a tragedy is averted due to the greed of one person, but I imagine they will back, trying something else again. Isn't that how the world works after all? This book deals with the harsh reality of life, but tells the story in a way that is approachable. I highly recommend it.

An outstanding tale of young children facing life's troubles, as told by a young child. But one who thinks and writes well beyond his years. For me, a book lives or dies based on the characters. And I loved these characters! Dr. Marmalade, who was in a jam from the beginning to the end. Officer Pleasantly, who wasn't. And a great bad guy!

For younger folks, the story is teachy without being preachy.

I sense a sequel. I can't wait.

Finally, an immensely compelling book to enlighten kids (and their parents) about the impact of family homelessness and poverty! This captivating fantasy and exceptional artwork bring to light a family’s struggle to survive while held captive by an evil billionaire.

Ronan has an uncanny sense of storytelling that will captivate adult and kid readers alike!

Kursid Kids is a charming, fanciful story thought up by a young boy for other young children. His lively imagination and concern for his homeless school mates conceived an engaging book that is ultimately a testament to the power of love. Highly recommended for chapter book fans.
