Chasing After Love

Rate this book
She's tired of being a tree.

Even living as an evergreen, Daphne can't shake Apollo, the god cursed to relentlessly pursue her. Determined to ditch him once and for all, she returns to her nymph form and makes a break for it, hiding in the last place on Earth she thinks he'll look. But when she ends up in humble sheriff's deputy Sam Carson's kitchen, she discovers she might actually want to stop running for good.

There's only one problem. Apollo will crush anyone who gets in his way. Literally.

Apollo's got a big head. And it only gets bigger when he enlists his trusty assistant and muse, Calliope, to help him find Daphne before his reputation as revered victor is trashed. Hades-bent on finally getting what he's been chasing after for centuries, he almost misses out on what's been right under his nose the whole time.

True love.

Can the god of every damn thing learn a little humility before it's too late? Or will all of Olympus finally know the Their ultimate winner is really a giant loser.

Like mythology? You'll love this modern-day twist on the centuries-old myth of Daphne and Apollo.

Kerri has always told tall tales. When she was in the third grade, she hid her glasses in the linen closet and told her mother a ghost must have stolen them. As you might imagine, that story didn’t end well.

Today, however, she tells more lighthearted tales, with happier endings. Fond of making people laugh, and forever a fan of folklore and mythology, she blends heart and humor with a dash of magic into her stories.

Kerri lives in Michigan with her husband, son and cat they lovingly but aptly refer to as The Maleficence, Mel for short.

I was soo excited to see book two was coming out as I loved book one! This time round we have the story of Apollo and Daphne, Apollo obsesses for Daphne even though it isn't real but from an arrow and Daphne just wants Apollo to leave her the hell alone. You got to love how absolutely clueless Apollo is in regards to those around him especially when it comes to Callie and even though he gets his obsession with Daphne he is caught between wanting to break the curse as well as being all alpha over her. Poor Daphne has had it rough until she is on earth and learning the ways of us mere humans and it is fun as well as sad to see her try and keep a part of herself as well as want to just live life, fortunately she not only has Sam but also Sadie and they are darn solid people to have your back. This is about mistakes, making tings right, following your hear and learning about what love really means! 💘💘

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I wasn't sure what to expect and I really liked the twist on the Greek Gods who now have to have jobs. Eros in a fit of anger and to teach Apollo a lesson hit him with a golden arrow and a nymph Daphne with an iron one. Now Apollo is compelled to chase Daphne despite her not wanting anything to do with him. Apollo is a selfish prick who only thinks of himself and his accomplishments, his assistant the Muse Calliope is madly in love with him even though he still finds himself drawn to chase Daphne and doesn't really hold any love for her. More and more though he is thinking of Callie.

Trying to escape him Daphne begged her father to turn her into a tree but after years as a trees she longs to run again so she asks her father to turn her back and send her somewhere Apollo would have a hard time finding her. What follows is witty, and fun with a touch of self discovery and a lesson for so many. Giving and being selfless is more attractive than all the money or accomplishments you may claim.

Another fun and engaging read! Loved it. The summary says it all but what it doesn’t say is how quickly you will devour the book! Such a quick read. This perfect for a vacay book or in between a series book! Love the characters, setting, and humor! Go read it!!!

I really liked this retelling of the myth of Daphne and Apollo. A fun read with great characters. The Greek Gods in all their glory are a fun bunch in this story. Apollo has a lesson to learn, and with the help of his assistant Calliope they travel to the human realm. I need to go back and read book #1, but it's not necessary in order to enjoy this one. I enjoyed this Author interpretation of the Gods and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.

I give Mergers & Acquisitions 4 stars for its fun read.
I would recommend this book to Fantasy/Paranormal/Retelling/Myths Fans.

I enjoyed this story so much I immediately went to Amazon to see what else I could get from this author. The story is very loosely based around the Greek gods Apollo, Daphne and Calliope. A Greek myth with a modern twist. I really empathised with Apollo’s soul searching, it was heartbreaking and he seemed so tortured, I adored the happy ending, though. The author has really brought the characters to life in an amazing story.

Amazing!!!

I can’t begin tell you how much I loved this book. From the very beginning I became so invested in all of the main characters. You can’t help but want to see them all work things out for themselves. All of the characters were so thoughtfully well developed that you really understood where they were coming from with every action they took. I absolutely hope this series goes on and on.

Book two of the Eros & Co. series, a well written story of the God Apollo who wants someone who does not want him. This is water nymph Daphne an sheriff’s deputy Sam Carson's story with Apollo realizing something he has been blind to for along time. I liked Callie's part in the story. I hope there is going to be more to come in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another absolute MASTERPIECE from Kerri Keberly in the Eros and Co. series. This book follows the myth of Apollo and Daphne, which I had never heard of before this. But I’ll definitely be looking up later!

Keberly writes the most lovable cast (and the most frustrating— I’m looking at you, Apollo) imaginable. Her characters feel so real that I was legit crying with Calliope for the last 10% of this book.

It was really cool to see this was a different story altogether, but our old fan favorites, Eros and Psyche, were back for a stellar performance.

This is a heartwarming tale about finding yourself through love and learning what is truly important. I give this book like 10 chefs kisses.

Oh my goodness!

I loved this story of Apollo! Shot by Eros, he was cursed to chase Daphne forever, until he makes a deal with Eros for their freedom - get Daphne to say I love you out loud and the curse can end. Apollo enlists the help of his trusted assistant, Calliope, to teach him how to woo Daphne - and from there, you will have to read this amazing story and find out what happens! Loved, loved, LOVED this story!! 10/10 must read recommendation!

Ok I absolutely loved this book! The first in the series (The Business of Love) I had a bit of a rough time getting interested. I think it was because it was a new genre. I did not have the same issue with this one. I was into it right from the beginning. I loved the relationships with all of the characters, even side ones. Kerri Keberly knows her gods and goddesses and I love her story telling skills!

I really enjoyed following the story of Apollo and Daphne. There were moment when I would have Apollo’s back but then at the same time understand where Daphne was coming from. I also enjoyed watching the relationship evolve between Apollo and Callie and the will they or won’t they work out? I look forward to reading the next book!

So freaking CUTE! This book had all of the feels. I don’t think I’ve ever loved the last line of a book this much. The characters were completely lovable and it was so fun to watch them grow and go along on their journey. If you want a quick adorable read I highly suggest you pick up Chasing After Love.
