This was an epic tale of a teenage boy trying to right a wrong that was created by his mother. An extraordinary cast of characters and an epic sci-fi fantasy apocalyptic story. Science is trying to play around with things that they probably should not play around with. Many other scientists warned his mother do not try this. Yet she wanted to make a name for herself and her teams continued on with the project. They wanted to capture antimatter which is highly volatile in a world made of matter. They set up five teams around the world to do this. Everything was going fine until it wasn’t. Then it happened. Matter and antimatter collided opening up five portal entrances to hell. What they did not realize immediately was at the same time not for away from the entrance portals it also opened up five exit portals from hell. Releasing demons and demon Spahn upon the world. millions died within days billions will die before it was over. Jason and his team of demon hunters sit out to try and figure out how to close the portals. In Russia they’re wise idea was to set off a nuclear bomb at an exit portal. As you will find out while reading the books this did not turn out well. Follow the adventure as Jason and his team travel around the world on foot by horse by steam locomotive and by other means that were not destroyed by the electromagnetic pulse treated by the event that destroyed electronics around the world. Everything has gotten so bad that heaven has sent warriors to assist Jason in his quest. They are stronger than normal humans and when they die within a few days they will come back and join the group again. Five divine warriors pulled out of purgatory to help save the world. This is the final book and the final gate team is close. Follow along and see if they succeed. Many of their companions will die and not make it to the end. Thousands of survivors will die trying to help them. Demons will stop at nothing to try and stop them. The demons are grouping Hells final push at the last gate waiting to destroy the world and bring hell to earth. An extraordinary action packed and very well told story. A cast of characters that you will fall in love with and love their successes and feel bad about their failures and losses. Do not get too connected to any one character as we never know who is going to make it to the end. Can they save the world or will they fell and Hell take over earth. Read on and find out. Once you start it will be hard to put it down.
Shattered World V: Hell is the fifth (and FINAL) book of the Shattered World Series. While each book has ended with a conclusion and without cliffhangers, this series should definitely be read in order.
I stumbled into this series as part of a scavenger hunt. I honestly wouldn't have ever chosen it. Except. I did! 😊 As soon as I found the answer and kept reading, and continuing on until the last page of this book. I don't do spoilers so you'll have to read it for yourself but I will tell you I LOVE it and I HATE it in equal portions.
I would definitely recommend it for anyone 16ish or older!
Aw hell! This is the conclusion of a journey to save the world. Jason, Sasha, and company meet their greatest challenge. Who dies, and who survives to tell the tale. The ending was an unexpected surprise. There is of course suspense of human nature and decisions that could change the world. The interaction between the characters will determine the outcome. There is blood, gore as usual, and a place that explicitly describes not since Dante. If you’ve read any of the series, you must finish.
I truly enjoyed the series (and I'm glad the author stopped mention Jason's blond locks after the second book) but I wanted to warn y'all that there are many animal deaths. If you can't handle that (I don't like it at all), skip this series. Otherwise a good read.
