In times of adversity, Jacy and others must learn the importance of loyalty, courage, and sacrifice in obtaining dreams for a better world.

Destiny is a compelling dystopian novel that combines political intrigue, resistance, advanced technology, and deeply human storytelling into an engaging vision of a world struggling to preserve freedom in the aftermath of global catastrophe.
Joanne Woodley creates a believable future shaped by war, environmental collapse, overpopulation, and authoritarian control. Rather than focusing solely on the technological aspects of this future society, she places human relationships and moral choices at the center of the narrative, reminding readers that even in the darkest times, hope is sustained by courage and compassion.
One of the novel's greatest strengths is the parallel journey of Jacy and Amelia. Their diverging paths one entering the government-controlled system while the other joins the underground Bennu resistance allow the story to examine the difficult choices individuals face under oppressive regimes. Their personal growth, sacrifices, and eventual convergence provide both emotional depth and narrative momentum.
The Bennu resistance adds another fascinating dimension to the story. Their struggle against the genetically enhanced Terrarians and the global government raises timeless questions about freedom, loyalty, identity, and the price people are willing to pay for a better future.
