SON SAYS:
I really liked all of the pictures because they are funny. My favorite picture is the one where Rowdy goes in the bedroom to steal his parents’ energy. It’s funny because they are like little energy bottles and you get energy from them. In the main picture of the grown-ups playing, Mr. and Mrs. Weary are not one of the grown-ups and they should have been. My favorite part of the book is when the kid got his energy back at the end of the book. It was a fun part of the book when the grown-ups had lots of energy though. I really really liked this book because it’s really funny. I think all people would like this book – especially tired parents.
MOM SAYS:
Well this “in-between” tired parent loved the concept behind this book, the over-the-top silliness of the story and illustrations, and the message underlying the story of loving and appreciating those energetic children regardless of how exhausted we are feeling. I think seriously that any parent who has children still interested in reading picture books will enjoy this book. Oh, and I’m sure kids aged 3+ will find it equally silly.
