Therefore, she was obliged to make up excitement by pretending to be a knight, mage, jet-setting international assassin, jedi, or (occasionally) a shape-shifting dragon. She read everything she could get her hands on, from Lord of the Rings to Modesty Blaise, and eventually started writing her own stories full of what-ifs and snarky put-downs. Now she lives with her two German Shepherd mixes in the frozen wilds of Minnesota, and does a lot of inventive swearing while she shovels.

Best one yet!
Talon's on vacation and Nix is left in charge of the Ariane. Now that the Warlord is no longer a threat, there's just some cleaning up to do. A new evil is introduced that is looking like it can give the Warlord's a run for his money! Ms Grey's characters come to life in everything she writes, each book introduced new depth to the characters we have come to life in the first 4 books of the series. Love all the action that'll keep you up past your bed time reading only to be expertly injected with just the right amount of humor. This is a book/series you won't want to miss!

Talon Rift is on leave... or vacation... or...?
The new Director of Alliance Intelligence, at Talon’s recommendation, has promoted Nyx to lead the his team in the Ariane. As they recover from their losses on Ymir & try to decide on a new mission, Nyx runs into someone from her past. What is Mala mixed up in?! How did things get so complicated?! Well... since author Natalie Grey is on a roll, it gets VERY complicated!! Expect intrigue, unknown enemies, deception, family issues, team turmoil, romance, and humor!! I don’t know how, but this series somehow gets better with every book!!!

Disappointing
After all the good stories in this series, this one was a disappointment. I was so tired of the internal mental flaying between the two MCs. It detracted from Nyx’s personality and I can only hope it does not carry over into the next book.

Great continuation!
Great action. Good development of a non-Dragon main character. Really like the work with Lesedi. Fits well with previous storylines and enhances the series.
