Herrick is a budding Riftrider, he must make his way, on his own, to town to get involved in the rigorous trials with a group of other elves who are in the same shoes. He is put in charge of a group, however, one believes that he should be leader instead and tries his best to take over. Meanwhile Meranda and Triedon are separated for the first time since the wedding. Choosing day for new Riftriders has Treidon working with the new recruits and Meranda must go to the city of Carditan. She has been sent by the dragon counsel to stop a group of plains elven men from enslaving other elven women. Mean while Treidon and other Masters and Elders are helping with the choosing day, one group seems to stand out among them, especially a young elven man who stands out for sure. The question lies, can Meranda stop the plains elves before it is to late and arrive back home in time for the end of the trials? Can Herrick thrive and pull the group together to pass what is needed for the trials?
