Evelyn knew that working for her father's pharmaceutical company was a big mistake, but what other choice did she have? It wasn't like a bunch of other companies were lining up to give her a job. She assumed that her father would give her a boring desk job, but she has no idea what she is in store for when she accepts the position of psychological analyst on a top secret experiment. Between their horrible relationship and her own troubled past, she has nothing to look forward to in life until she meets Denny. But Denny isn't all he seems and neither is her father. She quickly learns that the company is bursting with lies and deception as she struggles to free a test subject from his prison. With the help of a human rights organization and a mysterious HR lady, she completes her task only to be held captive herself. In order to survive she must sacrifice the only family she has. Is doing what's right worth the price?

Allow me to introduce myself, I am J. Lee Montgomery. I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts and a Master's degree in Business Management. I am currently attending Drexel University where I am working on another Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I currently live in Rochester, NY with my husband, but I have lived all over the world. I grew up in a military family which forced me to move frequently, but these travels have given me many experiences which have encouraged my creativity.

I am an avid reader, movie buff, and musician. I play piano and sing, as well as dabbling in guitar and violin. I have many hobbies including, woodworking, stained glass, sculpting, and interior design. My interests do not simply lie in the arts; I also enjoys riding horses, hiking, and archery. I am constantly looking for new things to learn, whether it be educational or for my own amusement.

I was inspired to write by my dreams. I have always had crazy, vivid dreams that were fantastical stories that I believed would make amazing novels. I have always enjoyed writing for myself, but only decided to write my first novel recently. I love that writing gives me the freedom to create alternate worlds and new people. Writing gives me the freedom to make anything happen. I can make my characters act completely insane or I can make them completely boring.

Having that kind of freedom is intoxicating and only inspires more creativity. I love the stories that I have written because they offer a glimpse at another world or version of our own world that is not readily apparent in our everyday lives. When I look at a painting or hear a song on the radio, I see entire stories unfolding that I want to get down on paper before it disappears forever.

I hope that my novels give my readers a glimpse into the crazy world that is my mind. I hope that they are able to escape from their own lives and enter the world of my characters if only for a few hours. I have always loved the ability to leave the real world behind when I read a book.

"Experimental" by J. Lee Montgomery is the kind of engaging, suspenseful and well-developed novel that I wish I came across more often. Ms. Montgomery has a talent for drawing the reader in very quickly, crafting a multi-layered tale of a woman trying to make ends meet and who finds herself caught up in intrigue and conspiracy when she begrudgingly accepts a job at her father's company. Evelyn is a character that manages to be strong and vulnerable at the same time, creating a bond with the reader as she tries valiantly to uncover the deep dark secrets within her father's company, all the while having to make sacrifices that just might be more than they are worth. The writing is rife with tension, lush, engaging, dramatic, suspenseful, action-packed and entertaining. Overall, I had a lot of fun reading this and I think it was a wonderful introduction for J. Lee Montgomery as an author.
