About the author

B.A. Fegles (rhymes with seagulls) is an avid Fantasy lover and has been since she discovered Piers Anthony’s writing. This ultimately led her to discover online Role Playing games and has played too many to count. Some of those she’s played more than most include Everquest, Everquest2, Rift, and World of Warcraft. Her primary interest in these games has been the Role Playing aspect and it was due to one very long and intense storyline in Everquest2 that led to the creation of The Shardkeepers stories. She has many other characters and stories that have been or will be Role Played and are quite likely to end up in future novels.

She’s also a horse lover and has a B.S. in Equestrian Science from William Woods College. (And an M.S. in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University because horses are expensive!) Her riding style of choice is Dressage and has taught many a riding lesson, done some showing, and a bit of training on the horses with which she’s had the pleasure of befriending and owning.

Animals in general are a fascination. She and her husband are currently owned by an orange cat named Romeo and an orange Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix named Sparrow. In the past, she’s also shared her home with birds (parakeets, finches, canaries, and one Parrot), ferrets (4!), and, other dogs and cats. One dog in particular, Spot (Jack Russel Terrier), had her heart from 7 weeks to 15 years when he crossed the rainbow bridge.

The Northern Illinois area was her home for a long time though she’s also lived in Ohio and a year in Tennessee. Currently, she’s in Texas and is extremely thankful for Air Conditioning!

I got this book in a goodreads firstreads giveaway and I absolutely loved it. It was a little bit slow to start because there is a lot of information to digest and a whole world to get into, but once I got past the first few chapters I was hooked. If you like fantasy and adventures I strongly recommend this book. Once I got into it I could hardly put it down and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway! Overall I loved the book! Once I really got into the book I didn't want to put it down. The beginning was a little confusing, but I read the back of the book that explained all the different races, and that helped a lot. The only bad thing is that the second book isn't out yet!
