Julius Godom, a grad student from Boston. He receives a letter from some unknown person hinting at a century-old artifact hidden deep in the Himalayas. It is called the Black Idol and it is a strange Idol indeed. It does not look like other artifacts either. He braves many dangers including strange pygmy warriors to get his hands on this Idol. But he is not alone, a group of assassins is on his tail. Can he obtain the Idol and make it back to Boston in one piece?

A short book, but well written. It reminded me much of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, but it was alot better than that movie. Where the movie was anti-climactic, this book was shocking and climactic. Where the movie was cheesy, the book was not. The only likable character in the movie was Indiana Jones, but the book made me like alot of its characters.
