This is the third a final volume of "The Purcell Papers" and was my favorite of the three volumes. Included are:

Jim Sulivan's Adventures in the Great Snow (July 1839)
A Chapter in the History of a Tyrone Family (October 1839)
An Adventure of Hardress Fitzgerald, a Royalist Captain (February 1840)
The Quare Gander (October 1840)
Billy Maloney's Taste of Love and Glory (June 1850)

The three volumes combined are a great introduction the diverse works of Le Fanu, covering multiple genres.

J.S. Le Fanu was an Irish contemporary of Edgar Allan Poe. There is a certain charm to his stories as they all take place in Ireland, usually Dublin or nearby, and in the 1600s-1800s. They are often narrated in an Irish dialect. That said, these collections can be mixed bags. The best story in this volume is "A Chapter in the History of a Tyrone Family".
