Kara Wright and Tien Tran, combat veterans of an elite intelligence unit, now make their living as Private Investigators. Often working the mundane, just occasionally they get to use all their former training.

-We want to know why the Brits
are
selling weapons to ISIS-

When a break-in threatens Britain's National Security, Franklyn calls on Wright & Tran but Kara will have to take this case on her own. Tien wants nothing to do with the world of Private Investigations and less to do with the world of Franklyn. Kara goes solo, but finding who is responsible for the break-in is the easy part. Finding who the real criminals are is much, much harder.

Isolated in a world of half-truths and lies, international arms deals and power politics, she is quick to discover that she's been working for the wrong side. What she didn't figure on was that making amends will place her, and those she loves, in the sights of those who have everything to lose.

Tien Tran, part of Wright and Tran Private Investigators, had left the country for her native Vietnam after the last case, when one of their members died. She needed to heal, and leaving best friend and partner, Kara Wright for the time being, was the best. So when Kara was approached by Franklyn about a break-in to an unbreakable facility in North Wales, she took the case on her own. But of course, she had her security team and back up members close at hand. It was all pretty straight forward to Kara – until it wasn’t…

The investigation into why the British were selling weapons to ISIS was a deep one, but one Kara was determined to uncover. But when Kara was badly hurt, Tien arrived back into the fray, and they continued on after a long break for Kara to recover. Their journey to Cyprus would be a catalyst – but would they identify the British agent? And with their whereabouts compromised, would they be safe?

Fall Guys is the 3rd in the Wright & Tran PI series by Aussie author Ian Andrew and I enjoyed it once again. With a mixture of arms dealers and political intrigue, the combination of various military agencies (all retired one way or the other) and our intrepid group of PI agents, the results were satisfying to say the least. Recommended.

With thanks to Leschenault Press, WA for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

Readers’ Comments
‘Enjoyed this. A good, solid thriller. There are a few small grammatical errors here and there, but all in all very enjoyable. Fast-paced, which is important in this genre.’ Male reader, aged 53
‘The central characters do the job well in this political thriller. Kara’s perfect for a role of this nature. The author’s excellent working with suspense, keeping the readers on tenterhooks until the very end.’ Female reader, aged 65
‘The underworld of arms dealers and a ton of political intrigue, this has all the elements of strong thriller. The writing style is more than adequate – he’s very good with speech and slowly developing his central two characters. Generally, I liked it.’ Male reader, aged 38
‘Complex plot, but not too complex. A light thriller with a political edge. The beginning is a bit slow – it needs a ‘POW!’ beginning; the ending is big and exciting. Reminded me a little of Clive Cussler’s stuff.’ Male reader, aged 48

To Sum It Up:
‘A gripping political thriller. A Red Ribbon winner and highly recommended.’ The Wishing Shelf Book Awards
