America is peaceful and back at the top of the world seventy years after the Second Revolutionary War tore through the country and gave birth to Central--the new government. For Lily Sandover the Second Revolution is just another war to learn about in school, until her political father gets promoted into Central and she is taught that everything is not as it appears.Lily's family soon gets invited into a branch of Central that acts more like an exclusive club called the Commission of the People, and once you're in the Commission, you're in the Commission for life. The Commission of the People is responsible for keeping the peace of America, and Lily soon learns that the peace comes at an extremely high price. Using her position inside the Commission, and the obsession that the leader of the Commission has for her, she tries to find a way to change the face of America and bring down the Commission of the People.

Holy crap this was wonderful.. I had to keep reading until it was over. If you don't have a few hours don;t start this one because it is page turning and you have to keep going until its done. It has fantasy and realism put together.. It has love and sadness.. it has mystery and intrique... so much of this is amazing and extreme. I totally could relate to the characters... the writing was so amazing I felt as if I was the character and what she feels and does. This was totally amazing and I'm so glad I got to review it
Inside, Part 1 was one of the most realistic and thrilling dystopian novels I've read in a long time. This book is a must read. It is completely different than other dystopian or science fiction novels and has a very unique story. I absolutely loved reading this book and can not wait to read the next one, since this one leaves you at a serious cliff hanger. It is packed full of adventure, experiments, betrayal and even some brain washing. It is so realistic because I can honestly see our country going down the same path that is the history in this book, though I hope not. I highly recommend this book.
Thanks to the Commission of the People, an exclusive club for those who run the country and keep America safe, America is a peaceful country once again. But once you become a member of the Commission, you are a member for life. Everything is not as it seems, and people don't seem to be asking the right questions to uncover the dark truth behind the Commission.
When Lily's family is inducted into the Commission, she is happy that her father has been given such a high honor, but not happy since she sees the other Commission kids acting strangely. Why are they so secretive? The day they show her family around, she learns that peace comes at too high a price and decides that it's time for a change.
Years after a Second American Revolution, Central was created. Part of Central was the Commission of the People which is more of an exclusive club than a branch of the new government. Lily Sandover’s father is a politician and has just been invited into Commission and things seem perfect. Lily is happy for her father’s new position but she notices things don’t seem entirely right, especially the other kids her age. Then on a tour she starts seeing the inner workings of Commission. Lily has decided that Commission needs to be taken down and is going to be the one to do it.
I loved this story. It has so much to it that I could see it happening in real life. There are so many things happening from brain washing to experimentation, it was horrible but I couldn’t wait to see what else was going on. But the thing that really got to me was all of this was happening and either the people had no desire to learn the truth or were not really looking for it.
This is a great dystopia young adult story. It does end with one heck of a cliff hanger so I can’t wait to get into the next book. I might as well get the third one too since I’m sure that I will be hopping into that one as soon as I am done with book two.
I received Inside Part 1 from Candid Book Reviews for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.
If you want a in dept young adult adventure. You got it here in this part 1 of Inside. Seriously the way she describes things in this book gave me some heebie jeebies like a spider trying to crawl on me. But I couldn't and didn't want to stop reading. You will find a girl named Lily. She is the key to all it seems along with her new friend Clark. They are both special pets to a guy named Nana. The Commission of the people is scary to the people outside but what goes on in inside of the Commission they have now idea. All hell is about to break loose when her family get a special gift from the head of the Commission People. How will Lily fight back when if you do, you might loose it all family and even friends. And you will disappear in the Commission of the People too.
I really do not know where to begin with this book except at WOW! I was blown away by this story. This book is set after the Second American Revolution. I can truly see how our country today could end up as the country in the book. This book has everything action, suspense, romance etc. I absolutely love to hate Dana, one of the main characters in this book. I do not want to give any spoilers, but I will say this book is not for the faint of heart or easily offended. If you love a book that will put you on edge, this is the one for you. I have just started the second part and I cannot wait to see what happens. You will not be dissapointed.
Inside, Pt. 1 is an interesting and engaging read. It is disturbing but good. I found myself enthralled in the world she created. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to read more of this story. I would highly recommend it to others that enjoy this genre. It was a unique read. It was dark but fascinating. I have not read this author before but I will read her again.
Inside Part 1 is a great start to the story. It is well written and the characters are intriguing!! I'm so excited that I got a chance to read it!! Good job Kyra Anderson! I can't wait to read more!
WOW. This book was something else! I thought the Coalition trilogy explored heavy topics but this one kicks it up to 11! That being said it's hard to write a review. I'm dying to see where this goes, but I see the skew in ratings from part 1 to part 3 so I hope it doesn't fall flat. Kyra has set up a very dark and twisted world but it feels a little TOO real at times. If you are a sensitive reader, please take note of the warnings the author gives because this book tackles just about everything that needs a trigger warning.
This book follows Lily Sandover, a politician's daughter who is very cynical about the new American government Central. After the Second American Revolution, America looks very different and is controlled mostly by the Commission of the People and its leader Dana Christenson. Lily finds herself in the middle of the Commission of the People after her father's promotion and she is thrown head-first into corruption that she could not even begin to fathom.
Having read The Coalition trilogy first, I can see the connections between the two books, but I don't think you have to read The Coalition to understand Inside. It seems these are all new characters, in a similar (even darker) setting. I'm going immediately on to part 2!
I couldn't finish this book. The plot is too unrealistic and is very contrived. The emotions don't feel real. The antagonist is so evil and unredeamable that I can't bear to read more about him. The adults in this story are so stupid, uninspired and cowed that it is unrealistic.
