The description of this book provided by the Tulsa C/C Library is better than anything I could write. The essays lean to the technical language of their respective topics, but I like having to chase down the definition of “epichoric,” especially when it is used in an extended modifier like “epichoric epigraphic.” Because the essays are written by specialists in various areas, they offer slightly differing views on some of the topics, yet the set presents a fairly coherent whole. The discussions around Andrew Jackson are particularly relevant with respect to today’s politics.
