Thomas is on a mission, to bring abandoned and lost Angels and Demons to a place where they can live in harmony and safety from the chaotic world they helped to create after the failed War between Heaven and Hell. What he didn't expect to find, was Grace. Grace is searching for her sister, captured by slavers and sent to a Demon, who rules a nearby city. Thomas was the last thing she expected when she is captured by stragglers from the slaver's group. Together they search for Grace's sister, but will they find her? And will Thomas find his redemption before his last white feather turns black and he falls completely?
Although this is one of a series of books, it can be read as a standalone although the story isn't finished. I really like the base idea for these books - that Angels and Demons are abandoned on Earth and are struggling to make their way.
I enjoyed the stories - please note unlike Amazon 3 stars on Goodreads is an 'I liked it'. It didn't hit 4 stars for me because of the stilted writing style of the author. Emotions and thoughts were often expressed using description of actions rather than through feelings and the sentences were short and disjointed. I found that I didn't engage with the main characters because I just didn't feel their emotions.
However the story was good, with plenty of action. These books are quite steamy with fairly explicit sex scenes - not an issue for me but it can offend some. The book is well edited and I didn't notice any glaring errors or typos. I would like to thank the author for sending me an ARC of this book to read.
