Parents, cops and journos are out to nail Syd Valentine who stalks Jo Bull for six years but why would she marry the crim? Jo, a pure Madonna, turns Catholic as a protest at her Anglican mother, Mrs Bull's tyranny. Third member of the 'lust triangle' is Douglass who can't believe that the uncool Syd is his competition. But Cravat is too magical for even this seasoned journo.
