I keep circling back to this book which was my required textbook in an undergraduate atomic physics course back in the late 20th century. It is still a standard reference and easier to read than Condon and Shortley. I still have Cowan's book for an advanced text. I wish Don Griffin had told me he worked with Cowan back when I was at Auburn. This is a good intermediate text though a bit succint.
