I got this book to learn more about the Fed and its "dual mandate" to have maximum employment and stable prices.

I got about a hundred pages in and I don't think the book even mentions decreasing unemployment but just says "the number one goal of the Fed is still to avoid inflation" and doesn't mention any other goals.

I then checked the index and there were no entries for the terms "unemployment", "employment', or "maximum employment".

This book is definitely not relevant for today's economy where Ben Bernanke talks about unemployment endlessly.
