Good book, on old JS standards. It basically makes the reader comfortable working with Js basics, below intermediate level I mean. Author could have focused on OOPs and event handling would have been be a ++, examples are based on old IE and netscape, with little on mozilla.
I seriously feel this book is enough for academic level, but definitely not for professional level! I used it in my sophomore diploma in computer engineering.

Short scripts for web pages and forms or make short applications not intended for long application programming. Good info though out dated.

Really readable, but a lot of it is out of date.
