About the author

William Parish graduated from the University of Toronto with Honours in History. After graduation he became a teacher and worked at Athens High School and then Pickering District High School where he was head of the History Department. Eventually he moved to the Scarborough Board of Education where he served as Chairman until retirement.
Bill Parish was one of the founders of the Town of Ajax. He served on Council since its formation in 1955 and became the Town's third mayor serving from January 1958 until December 1963.
Bill currently lives in Ajax with his wife, Marny. They have six children and fourteen grandchildren.

As William Parish was a collegue and friend of Pat's, he brings his personal insights into the character of Pat Bayly. However, he admits that both Pat and his wife lead very private lives and so research into this paper was quite difficult.
