Well, these three stars because the subject on which to write the book was so difficult to get information on. But really, a book on Kishore Kumar could be much, much better. The author gets lost into other things often, and when there's praise for the singer, it doesn't always have its reasons, and still there is so much praise sometimes it just looks hollow. A biography on a genius like Kishore deserves better. It's unfortunate we don't have much about him.
Besides, the book has grammar issues in some places, though not frequent really. The index isn't perfect, and most irritating of all these issues, the author has even spelled some names as he liked. I was appalled to see the great actor Iftekhar named as Ifthekar. Not once, but through the book, including index. Spelling Hindi words as per one's own ideas is fine, but names cannot be spelled as I wish them to be spelled.
The book touches upon many aspects of his life & details but sometimes jumbling between his work, his acts, controversies & sometimes Life.... The book has some content about who he was but wish it was knit together in a better manner.
