Can be read as a standalone billionaire paranormal shifter romance
In the next installment of the True Mates series, New York Alpha Grant Anderson meets his match in feisty New Jersey Alpha, Francesca “Frankie” Muccino.
New Jersey Alpha Francesca “Frankie” Muccino never had it easy. Alpha of her ragtag clan, head of her family, and manager of their ailing restaurant business, she’s got a lot on her plate. When a handsome, sexy, and very naked Lycan shows up on her doorstep, sparks immediately fly, but it’s one more complication she can’t handle.
Escaping from a kidnapping attempt by his enemies, New York Alpha Grant Anderson finds himself in New Jersey territory. He’s immediately drawn to the plucky and spirited Frankie, and has no qualms about going for what he wants - her, in his bed. The Jersey Alpha won’t be an easy catch, but Grant is determined to tame the wild she-wolf.
Danger brings them together as the evil mages come back for their revenge, determined more than ever to take Lycans down. Thirsty for retribution, they have taken in a new ally, one that’s closer to the New York clan and could finally bring them the victory they want. Frankie is caught in the middle of the war between the New York Clan and the mages and Grant will do anything to protect her. Can he keep her safe and win her over, or will the mages and their mysterious ally tear them apart?
Romancing the Alpha is a full-length (over 70,000 words) billionaire werewolf steamy paranormal romance with explicit love scenes, naughty language, and shifter suspense action with guaranteed HEA and no cliffhangers!
Although it works as a standalone romance story, this book takes place in the True Mates series world. To understand the elements, I recommend you read “Fated Mates” and “Blood Moon” before this book.
YOU GUYS. I actually enjoyed this one? Who am I? Have I just been brainwashed by how bad the first two were? I don't know (seems likely, tbh), but I kind of enjoyed it.
Plot/romance wise, this was much better than the first two books. Grant was actually pretty likeable (as far as billionaire business owners go), and I liked seeing him chase after Frankie. Frankie actually had a personality and was entirely capable of handling herself, and it was nice seeing a woman be on an (almost - it's clear this serious has a LOT of misogynistic issues) equal playing field to her love interest. They had a cute dynamic as a couple, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. We started to see the overarching plot of the series develop further - it just would have been nice if the book's individual plot took a different format to the first two, because after three books you can basically pinpoint the exact page that any event will happen.
Look, it still had issues. At times, Frankie could be very iM nOt LiKe OtHeR gIrLs. And there was a fair amount of shaming women/assuming women only want money & power. And the story is once again basically an exact copy of the first two books - is it necessary for everyone to get pregnant? Also given that true mates are supposedly so rare, it's annoying that every bloody couple in this series are true mates. And the endings are always rushed and overly dramatic. So it wasn't good, per se, but it was a quick and fairly enjoyable read, for the most part.
This was another fantastic addition to the True Mates series. I loved finally getting Grant and Frankie's stories. We get a tease about their being a connection between them in the first book but really nothing else until this book. This is a mostly stand on its own book but I would still recommend reading the previous books in the series. It will make everything more enjoyable. We get to see all the characters from before, along with some new ones and we get to know all of them more. The story is connected through all the books though they all have their own happy endings, they do have the same bad guy that they are dealing with. This story is very well written and flows really well. You get awesome characters that you have already started to love in previous books and we get to see where previous main characters are at. I was drawn into this story from beginning to end. I didn't want to put it down but work and sleep got in the way of finishing it in one sitting. These characters are fantastic and I love their interactions with each other. We get to laugh and feel along with them. Frankie has a hard time letting people in, especially men, and so Grant has a lot of work to do in order for them to get their happy ending. We get a little more relationship building between Grant and Frankie in this book, as Grant has to work so hard to get Frankie to lower her guards. The sex is explicit and fits into the story, and characters, perfectly. The mages are working to keep them apart but are trying to stay behind the scenes while doing so. We get plenty of action and intrigue as the story progresses. Nothing felt drug out or extended too long. Even though it is the same bad guys, they have new plans to try and succeed and get their way. It is a different, new story and not just a new set of characters. I can't wait for the next book! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Started out great but it started to go slow and didn’t hold my attention, skimmed a bit here and there and then it started to pick up again and was better and funnier.
Enjoyed reading. I have now read the first 5 books in this series. I don't know if I should cry, laugh, or pass out; each book is so entertaining. Please keep writing paranormal books.
I enjoyed the story, but the editing issues did put a damper on that. Seriously, Ms. Montgomery needs to fire her current editor and hire a new one. Maybe hire a couple and don’t depend on self-editing or friends to catch the errors. The storyline (whole series) is good, but poor editing keeps me from recommending it to friends.
I love Grant so I was thrilled to read his love story. I loved Frankie from when she helped Alynna at the party in book 1. I enjoyed the interaction between the Grant and Frankie. She’s spunky and he’s a bit arrogant, but with reason. He is the most eligible alpha in the world. *lol* I loved how he went about wooing her. I loved her reactions to his repeated visits to her family restaurant.
Side characters were once again a hoot especially her brothers and her grandmother’s cousin, Nonna, who were determined to “help” her in the romance area. I loved them all.
Writing quality: Okay, would be better if properly edited. Violence: Some Sexual content: Some Narration: Third person Mood: Light-hearted & Suspenseful Pace: Fast Character development: Semi-developed
I couldn’t even get past the first chapter. One of the ways to ruin a mate romance is to write about the male being sexually after another. And we get details of how he’s been trying to screw women left and right but his instincts won’t let him but he still tries. We have to read about how he should be bad in the hotel room giving the hoe orgasms right now. We don’t want details! We don’t even want to know if the male mate had previous sexual encounters. We ABSOLUTELY don’t want details of him trying to screw someone else other than his mate IN THEIR BOOK. It’s common sense. It so unattractive. I bet he meets his mate in the second chapter….less than 24 hours apart from him trying to screw Andrea at the club. Romance officially killed before it can begin. He doesn’t deserve his mate and I won’t read about a guy trying to bang women for no reason when he knows there’s a mate aka “the only one” for him out there somewhere. It’s a betrayal and disgrace to the loyalty of mates.
I was looking forward to this one but I was not a huge fan of the mfc she irritated me. It was more conflict between her and the mmc then the bad guys and it was it just got too appointed to be ridiculous. She was willing to believe the worst and him then to actually believe what he was saying. Literally the same conflict popped up twice and had to eat Crow both times because she was proven wrong. She was determined for him to be a player and that he was going to hurt her and when it was proven that she wasn't being played it was kind of brushed off like oh it's fine. It just really frustrated me because he deserved so much better than that

The New York lycan clan definitely have their work cut out for them in defending their territory from the mages, especially when their supposed friends are working with the enemy. Grant doesn't realise he is being targeted until he is drugged and kidnapped but fortunately for him he manages to stumble into Frankie's territory and sparks fly. I as so happy that Grant got his true mate. Now he has a whole lot more to protect. I am loving this series.
I loved reading Grant and Frankie's story. Two Alphas from different territories, NY and NJ, one is a man, one is a female.
Frankie is the Alpha of New Jersey. It was passed down to her when her mom dies and Frankie has no plans of marriage or children. She runs her family owned Italian restaurant with her brothers.
Coming home from work, she accidentally hits a naked man who stumbled in front of her car. She immediately panics and calls her brother for help; but only gets his voicemail. Realizing that he's a Lycan, she drags him inside her house so he doesn't get seen. The man mumbles that he's been drugged and he can't see. When her brother shows up after the man starts kissing her, she leaves the Lycan before her brother gets suspicious. Frankie has 4 brothers, and only 1 of them is Lycan. Her mom's second marriage was to a human, so the 3 half brothers are human. Dante, the Lycan, is the one who shows up and scents the air, immediately realizing what his sister was doing. But it's one of the younger boys who recognizes who is passed out. The billionaire/CEO/Alpha of NY Grant Anderson.
Frankie immediately remembers that she met his sister at her "coming out" lycan ball. She goes online and searches for Alynna's old PI company and calls her.
Grant remembers very little, but he does remember kissing Frankie. So he shows up at her restaurant 4 nights in a row trying to win her over. He talks Alpha business about the mages becoming more hold and how the council has been ignoring them. But when he tries more intimate matters, Frankie rebuffs him.
Then Alynna plays matchmaker and invited her to her newborn's welcoming party. But when she gets there, she finds out that its Grant's mom, Callista, birthday. And Grant got a suite for them that night.
Grant doesn't realize how much hurt and distrust she has with men. He also doesn't realize who his true enemies are, because they share the same skin as he does. But when they harm Frankie, nothing will get in his way to save her or avenge her.
As I read the first two novels of Alicia Montgomery, True Mates Series I couldn’t wait to read about Grants HEA. Since the first novel, I was so sure Frankie was his true mate but when got to book 2 without hearing of Frankie again, I began to wonder. Great way to string us along. Frankie is a hard working alpha of the New Jersey Clan, following in her grandmother and ma’s footsteps. She is Italian, loves her family and good food, she is surrounded by 4 brothers and Nona and run a family restaurant.
Grant is the alpha of the New York Clan who recently found his sister and has watch her and his best friend/beta find their true mates and start a family of their own. He is a hardworking alpha who takes his job seriously but when he finds himself drugged with poison, he finds Frankie, the one with the smell of cookies from is Sisters ceremony. He does everything in his power to woo Frankie. When trouble arises and the mage go to the brink of bringing life or death to their doorstep Frankie and Grant learn the truth of their relationship.
The mages won't give up. Now that Alynna it's close to giving birth, they are desperate to take down the New York clan. They find new allies to infiltrate the clan with the intent of taking out the leadership chore, starting with kidnapping Grant, but he exposes, ends up in New Jersey - on the hood of the Lupa's car, no less. Sparks fly-- Frankie was 'the woman in the green dress' from Alynna's coming out party. Grant shows interest, she doesn't believe him, then her family's restaurant is torched with her locked in. Frankie gets out, but now her family is in danger because of Grant. Then... well, have to leave something for you to read. Oh, but Alynna and Alex have a girl and Cady and Nick have a boy. On to book 4.
Frankie is Alpha of the New Jersey wolf clan and owns an Italian restaurant with her four brothers and great aunt. She doesn't trust men but something about Grant gets to her. Grant is a billionaire and Alpha of the New York wolf clan. He wants to find his True Mate but doesn't think he ever will. But when he is kidnapped and escapes, Frankie hits him with her car and then takes him into her house. He knows there is something special about her and will do anything to get closer to her. They have some serious issues to work out along with someone trying to take them out. Plenty of surprises. Great story. Sex. Funny. My only problem was the editing. But I still enjoyed the story.
This is a pleasant series that has a continuous background theme set with the individual stories of each couple. This was New York Alpha Grant Anderson and New Jersey Alpha Francesca (Frankie) Muccino’s story. Grant is Alpha of the largest pack in North America while Frankie’s pack is one of the smallest. The rogue mages are still causing problems but this time they have some unexpected allies. The shifters in this series are not as in touch with their wolves as in other series in this genre but occasionally the wolves get to step in.
I read the first book, in the series and decided not to buy next book because I found the characters TSTL and story seemed to aim at a younger audience. Then I saw the story line for this book, so decided to try it. Again, the book seems written for the young, except for certain scenes. We are to see the characters as clever and strong, yet they continually react rather than think. I became increasingly frustrated and found the last few chapters disappointing.
I loved how the author incorporated all the characters from the two prior books in this series, while still making this book about Grant and Frankie. Alicia, I love this series and hope to see you continue it. There are way too many locals that still need to find their fated mates. And I want to see Stefan and Victoria caught. But maybe bad boy Daric can actually find someone that can get him turned around to just being a misunderstood badass.
in this one grant finds his true mate who is also a alpha. female alpha in new jersey.. she is kfunny loves her family and her pack. runs an italian restaurant which most of her family runs. when she is heading home one night she runs over a man a naked man. she had met his sister during her coming out party so when her brother tells her who he is she calls.. grant has finally found the woman of his dreams but she wants nothing to do with him.. cute book, witches and more in these books..
True to the series Romancing the Alpha goes with the whole true mates story line. Which is so amazing. Nothing sexier than Alpha male so romantic and hopelessly in love. I really enjoy the series as a whole it so far this exceeds on the Romance. Grant knows what he wants before he even sees it. Thanks to his sensitive nose all he has to do is follow that amazing scent.
Defending his territory from mages, Alpha Grant has his hands full and has no time for the fairer sex. Alpha Francesca has her hands full trying to run a business and overseeing her small pack. When mages and wolves wanting to have more power attack Grant, the two are thrown together and the chemistry hits. Lots of funny parts, sexy moments, great writing and interesting going ons to keep you reading. Couples from past books are included so this is best to read them in order.
Yes this is another great story, and well worth reading as are all the true mates story are and am a 70yrs young and couldn’t put it down and already have book 4 waiting for me so take my word for whatever it’s worth and buy the first and if your like me you won’t stop at just one story,I would have loved to be on your team but I hate having to side load books. Keep up the good work. Fred G
We finally get to Grant. I absolutely think he is adorable. He has so much on his plate. I mean in the first book I felt bad for him because of his life. Then I was happy he got a sister. However seeing his friends become happy I'm sure just makes him lonely. I like how everyone rallied together and becomes a happy family. Frankie is funny and just brings freshness to the family.
Yet another excellent book. So much going on it made me dizzy. Frankie dosn't trust men, she has her brothers and her restaurant, that's enough for her. She and Grant met at a function but she disappeared and he didn't know where to find her, until he was attacked, kidnapped and ended up in her garden. Things get even more crazy after that, I'm glad to say Sue P
I love this series! I could not put this book down. I read all three books in less then 2 days. I know some people will complain about editing, but the mistakes I did see were easy enough to overlook. The story easily made up for it. I would recommend this book to anyone who is into shifter romance. I can't wait for the next book. I personally hope Liam gets a book soon.
I liked Frankie, and I liked her family. I liked Grant. I liked his determination to keep after Frankie. There was sex...and then there was needless sex...and yeah, we got the picture now. And then there was shooting Frankie. And then Grant almost dying. But the babies turned out fine, and I suppose that is the best way to leave the book - as a decent read.

This was full of mystery, passion and some strong Alphas. What do you get when to Alphas meet? Hot,passionate and steamy sex of course. So hot that it makes everyone horny. Grant and Frankie are strong characters and their families are wild. This series gets better and better. I can't wait to start the next book.
Omg!! This 3rd book in the series was so good that I read it quickly because I couldn't wait to find out what happened. A wonderful, exciting, dangerous, romantic, and funny at times. Grant is the New York Alpha who meets Frankie, also known as Francesca and is the New Jersey Alpha and their journey through obstacles of love, hate and family. Loved it.
Grant is kidnapped and drugged but escapes. He is found by Frankie, alpha of the New Jersey pack. They are attracted to each other. She is owner/ manager of an Italian restaurant. Grant goes for dinner several days in a row to see her. Another true mate connection !!!
This comes to about 4.6 stars. There were definitely places that needed more info, especially the action scenes and maybe a couple spots where i scratched my head, but it wasn't enough to detract from the story. This was hot! The mains were perfect and I'm so glad with the ending!
I am devouring everything this wonderful author writes. Her books are almost therapeutic. They leave smiling from ear to ear and light hearted. The book has suspense that keeps you reading, love that keeps you pushing and wanting, absolute laugh out loud moments. An all around pleasure to read. Recommended shifter series.
