Holy Hell!!

First off let me say that I LOVE this author and I’ve read nearly all of her books. But this one right here? Me no likey. I really tried on this one but I just couldn’t do it and it pains me to give this one such a low rating because these authors work so hard on their stories and pray that we as readers, will love them as well. But you know what? You can't win them all.

After going through a horrible break up, Molly’s life is no longer the same. Feeling like she can’t possibly make it through another day, to say that she’s officially reached her breaking point would be an understatement. But just when she’s at her lowest, an occasional acquaintance who’s also heartbroken walks into her life. From that moment on Molly and Roman decide that they should become Besties and be there for each other. Two heartbroken people trying to move on, forms a friendship with each other. What’s the worst that could happen?

I really couldn’t connect with Molly and Roman’s characters at all. Roman frustrated the hell out of me and gave me neck pain with his freakin whiplash! I can’t tell you many times I bitch slapped him in my mind without getting arrested! LAWD someone pass me a drink cuz that man tested my patience in the worst way!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What I didn’t like was the interactions Molly and Roman had with each other. They both acted very immature to me and I found myself asking how old are these people? By 50% I wanted to throw in the towel on this one and just call it a day but I pulled up my big girls panties, and I marched on to finish it. Did I do it sober? Umm….. fuck no. But it was 5 o’clock somewhere so it balanced out.

Even though this one wasn’t for me, I’m sure others will probably love it if you’re a fan of this author.

BESTIE: Some elements are loosely connected to the author's own personal story which she's incorporated into Bestie. Even though this states it's part of a series it can be read as a standalone.

Molly was born and raised within the Jokers Wrath Motorcycle Club, outside of it she has no one she can call close friends. Her only saving grace is her relationship with Michael.

Just when you think life couldn't be any sweeter it throws curveballs at us now and then, weither you're strong enough to dodge them is another story. This is what happened to Molly, one minute she's happy in love in her relationship with Michael and the next minute that curve ball of a bitch hits her and he breaks up with her.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Michael broke my soul into a thousand pieces, and then just disappeared.

No explanations, just cut from his life

One how are you from a guy she only knows in passing when she needed it the most moves from texting, to calling each other besties when they both needed a shoulder to lean on.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Before, we were just two people who didn't know much about each other and said hello if we passed on the streets, now we're confiding in each other only after a few days.

Both suffering from heart wrenching break ups, both in dark places not knowing how to get out of the pits of hell they have been thrown into, both licking their wounds, both with broken down souls.

GAH don't hate the rater, this just wasn't for me, or what I'd normally come to expect from my favourite author. I just didn't connect with the characters, I found (this is only my opinion) that the times when they were bonding were the times they were putting others down and I just couldn't stomach it. (put your pitch forks away trolls). But then there were some elements I really loved, especially their banter amongst themselves, that strong connection the two had.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic There are some things you need to know about me, if you’re going to be my new Bestie. I’m quarter crazy, quarter deviot, quarter alcoholic and quarter feral.

I personally would've liked to have read the break up in the 'Prologue' how he broke it off with her, her feelings more in depth, the devastation, the hurt, the feels that I needed/craved to connect with her on an emotional level.

I m glad the gangs back.

I m so happy I m are getting more of the Joker MC. I luvd the first 4 books so I was dyin for this book. I liked the overall story but I was left wanting more. Molly's character is good my heart went out to her throughout this book. She is dealing with a crappy breakup and her heart is broken. Life is just kicking her up the butt. Her family and family's are amazing. She just can't seem to get over Michael until she meets Roman walkin down the road. Molly knows of him but they aren't close close until fate puts them together.

I did enjoy this book but I felt there was to much left open and I was left with loads of questions. I wanted more of the Roman and his ex storyline. It just seem to end and that was it. I felt it was a lil slow in parts. I did luv the relationship that Molly and Roman had they were so good together and really cute. They are both really good people and deserve to have a happy relationship and life. I actually thought this book seemed more personal than fictional which was good I felt that I was getting to know the author more. This book is a lot different to her others. I did miss the drama. This was emotional and I felt sorry for both characters. Even though I did feel a lil frustrated in parts though. This story really did pull at my heartstrings in loads of ways. I really liked parts of this book.

I enjoyed getting to know a lil more from the other kids. It's made me want more. After getting to know Jack and Matilda more I m lookin forward to there books a lot. Jack has me really interested I think this series is goin to be brilliant.

Release Date: December 13, 2016
Genre: Contemporary Romance - friends to lovers
POV: Heroine - 1st person
Steam: 2
Series or Standalone: Book 5 of the Jokers' Wrath series but can be read as a standalone

This book was very highly anticipated by yours truly. When I found out that elements of this story came from the events that took place in the author's life (she had her own Bestie), I knew I had to read it. Who doesn't like something that offers a glimpse into who someone is and why? So of course I grabbed the opportunity when it came up.

Molly (daughter of Maddox) was living the good life. Amazing family, awesome friends, and a boyfriend she was happy to be in love with. That is until said boyfriend dumped her without an explanation. Heartbroken and unsure of what to do or who to turn to, along comes Roman who appoints himself as her new Bestie. Roman was broken too. After a nasty breakup, he was at a loss as to how to even move on.

So Molly and Roman helped each other out by being friends and supporting each other through their heartbreak. Unfortunately, they rebound with each other, which is obviously an easy way to further break one's heart. It didn't help that Roman was busy convincing Molly and himself that he was still very much in love with his ex. An ex that everyone, including myself, could see was undeserving of his affection and attention. I think that was the most disappointing part of the story. Although it made Roman's pain real and his actions gave his feelings some authenticity, it also made him come across as weak and pathetic. Also blind. WTH?! And Molly wasn't any better because she kept chasing after Roman while he was stuck in his confusion. Any claims he made regarding moving on or wanting/needing Molly came off as pretty unbelievable. I didn't trust it or believe in their HFN (if that was what I really got there in the end).

Overall, this book was raw and real and painful and, for many people, it was true. Be prepared for some major heart-string pulling!

Molly and Roman are two people suffering from heartache and trying to move on from their past relationships. Which is proving to be a lot harder than they thought it would be. For Molly she just wants to know why her ex left her the way he did. And Roman just wants to understand how his ex could be so selfish and why he still wants her as badly as he does. The two meet when they both need someone in their life and become besties. Feelings start to develop between them when they become close, but neither of them are in a place where they can start a new relationship. Can their friendship last through the attraction or will it ruin everything?

Sigh. It's hard to form the words to describe how I felt about this book. I like the premise of it and I thought it was great how Roman and Molly started off as friends. But the way it all played out just wasn't my favorite and I was getting annoyed at these characters. Their friendship seemed too immature for my tastes and I just didn't find it funny like I think it was supposed to be.

Molly was an all over the place character and I never got a true feeling of who she was. While Roman seemed almost non-existent in this book. It was told through Molly's POV only which I started to hate since there was so much going on in Roman's life that we never got to actually see or hear about in detail. His whole relationship with his ex made absolutely no sense to me and I never fully understood why he even thought he should go back with her. Maybe if we got to see that from his POV I would have gotten it, but as it was I didn't like it at all.

Bottom line, I had issues connecting to these characters and their story was only okay for me. I think the thing that got my attention the most was hearing about Jack and his girl that he was trying to get. I would still recommend this book for fans of the series and think many people will enjoy it and like getting to see past characters again.

I have read 20+ books by Bella Jewel, so she is an author whose books I keep a close eye on. I did not know what this book was about prior to starting it. I loved the previous books in the Jokers' Wrath MC and was excited about Bestie. It was a sweet romance with some drama. Both Roman and Molly went through a bad break-up and are trying to move on, which isn't always easy. When they meet each other one day they decide to keep in touch and become friends. I really enjoyed seeing their friendship grow and there were a couple of very sweet and funny moments. However both are still confused and not over their past relationship, but they have each other's backs. They tell each other everything and are besties.

I loved seeing how the other characters from this series were doing. I really missed them. The writing was really easy to follow and great. I think this book was suppose to be new adult but there were a lot of scenes that read as young adult. It was a bit too sweet at moments which wasn't for me. Also the pace of the story was fast and I think if the story was longer I would've connected better with the characters. Their sadness about their previous break-ups didn't feel real to me. Especially that of Molly's, in my opinion I would've believed her being broken about her past relationship more if there was a couple of flashbacks. Or have the first couple of chapters showing how she was happy with her boyfriend before the break-up.

Can be read as a standalone

I really like Bella Jewel. However, this book didn't do it for me. I liked how some of the events were based on the author's past, but this story just seemed too normal. It felt like I went back to college and experienced common insecurities caused by the opposite sex.

Two people going through difficult break ups. They try the friend thing. Things get complicated, and yada yada yada.

There was also too much dialog. Characters from previous books giving relationship advice and helping the main character... It felt like an episode of Full House.

*This review may contain light spoilers*

This is such a difficult review to write, and a hard rating to give. Bella Jewel is one of my favourite authors and she's written some of my favourite books. I've read pretty much everything she's ever written and I've never struggled with one of her books like I did with this one. I even struggled with what to rate this book, I did not enjoy this story at all. And I hate to have to say that as a massive Bella Jewel fan and also knowing how close this story is to her and her life makes it extra awkward that I just didn't gel with it. I opted for 2 stars in the end because I just can't face rating one of her books any lower than that and even though personally I wouldn't give so much of my personal life away, I have to applaud her for her bravery. Putting herself out there like that in this format is risky. I don't want to offend when I give my critiques, I don't know how much of this story is fiction and how much is true events, but I have to judge it just on the book that's in front of me, as a work of fiction.
To be brutally honest, had this not been a Bella Jewel book I wouldn't have gotten past the first 10%, and had it not been an ARC I definitely wouldn't have made it through to the end.

I'll start with the writing, well it just didn't feel like Bella Jewel, as I said I've read almost all of her books (all except one I think) and I just couldn't reconcile this as being her writing. it seemed so juvenile, the characters immature and the dialogue cheesy and cringe-worthy.

Onto the characters, well, I just didn't like them very much, I didn't connect with them and they were very much two dimensional to me. I thought they were very immature at times, and most of the time I just wanted to tell them both to grow up and stop being so pathetic/self-centred/desperate/mopey, it was unbearable at times. These were my thoughts whilst reading the book, before I knew it was based on real situations and emotions and knowing that, that's almost definitely insensitive. But as I say I have to base this on my experience of these fictional characters. This is very much down to my personal taste of romance books, this book hit upon a couple of pet peeves of mine that I have no patience for in books; moving on before the characters are really ready and one character leading another on. I felt this happened in this book, and since that's a pet peeve of mine in books, naturally it meant I struggled with this one.

And then we get to the story, it was so bloody frustrating!! These characters met at a time when they were both fresh from bad break-ups. They were friends first but soon moved into being friends with benefits. Big mistake. Huge! Anyone could see that. I feel this book could have been something really special had they remained friends, it could have been the prequel to each of their stories moving on with other people and eventually finding their respective "one". I just didn't find it worked that they ended up together, it wasn't convincing, it felt forced, and I felt like the h was the H's second choice.
The h moves on fairly quickly but the H, jesus he went back and forth so many times he gave me whiplash! His ex was so blatantly keeping him hanging not wanting him but not wanting anyone else to have him. And it took him forever to pull his head out of the sand and see that for himself. The h saw it, but what she didn't seem to realise throughout her endless inner monologue about how she feels so sorry for him and poor him that he's going through this, was that HE was doing the exact same thing to her. Maybe it was unwittingly, but it doesn't change the fact that because he was hanging on waiting on his ex, he was leaving the h hanging on waiting for him. And worse, talking to her about how he can't decide what to do and telling her he still loves his ex. Yes, you do talk to your friends about these things, but platonic friends only! Not someone you've slept with and when there's feelings involved! That's just seemed insensitive to the h and a recipe for disaster.

By the time it got to the ending, I was just ready for an ending, I didn't particularly care either way what happened, I wasn't at all invested in these characters, and at that point I just couldn't see how a relationship based on rebound and co-dependancy could work, personally I just wasn't convinced by it at all. I think this book could have worked way better for me if the timeline of the story had been longer. I enjoyed seeing an author tackle the process of moving on from a bad break up, if everything in this book happened over a much longer period of time it would have felt more convincing. What I love about fiction and romance in particular is that, even though characters can experience ups and downs that person they end up with, it's usually perfect by the end. The characters are perfect for each other and there's no doubt as to the future of their relationship after the words 'The End' have been written. I didn't get that with this book, I was sceptical of it and had little confidence that a basis had been made for the readers to know these characers were meant to be and what they had was indestructable. Basically I just didn't get it, I'm sure these kinds of relationships do work out in reality but I would guess it's a rarity and they are fighting the odds.

I suppose you can't win them all and after like 20 books, odds are she was going to write something I wasn't fond of, I just hate to be writing a review like this for an author like this. One thing I will say is though, the experience I had with this book would never effect my decision to read any of her future work, I'm still of the opinion that she's one of the best authors in her genre and it'll take a lot more than one iffy book to change that opinion.

I love this author but THIS book was a NO! What the hell kind of a hero was this??? I felt like he grew a vagina for 80% of the book. No backbone at all, crying whiny baby. He has his best friend and absolute match in every way, and he is still hung up on a woman that left him for another man and uses him and TELLS him she doesn't love him! WTF is wrong with him???? NO! NO! This is not what I thought I would read. I was waiting for Molly to smarten up and find someone else but NOPE, she takes the blame for acting NORMAL and calling Roman on his stupidity. She kept going back to him like she was the loser in the situation. Let him miss you girl! It's working for the other woman that he keeps CHOOSING over YOU! Over and over and over and he is hooked on this woman even as he has a FWB relationship with Molly. Respect your self girl, that is not a man. Ugh, so bad, SOOOOO BAD!!!! I can't, it's just not even... ugh. This was not a Bella Jewel book like we've read in this series. He was so pathetic even I felt depressed reading about him. Where are your BALLS dude?!?!

4 Star Read:
I absolutely love this series and love the world that Bella Jewel has created that combines the Sinner's and Joker's Wrath MC. I honestly can't wait for more!

That being said, something was off about this novella. It just didn't carry the Joker's Wrath MC vibe. It felt more like a filler an inbetweener novella to wet the senses and keep the fans fed while completing the next book in the series. Lots of authors have these inbetweener's and they drive the fans nuts wanting more.

For me, this novella missed the mark that drives me as a fan. However, I'm still dying for the next book in the Joker's Wrath MC and hope a little that at some point we will see more of the Sinner's MC.

That said, a spin-off of the spin-off is something that I look forward to, eagerly!

Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance were well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors, and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!!

I have never been more annoyed with a hero in my life Holy Crap this book was a mess and the "Hero" if we can call him that was the worse thing EVER not only was the friendship between him and the Heroine weird they both acted like 13 year old girls and the whole "bestie" thing got on my nerve and just gave me a big headache

But honestly the worse thing was how the hero was portrayed this guy had no self respect no dignity absolutley no pride. Are we Supposed to find this man sexy?? the way he could not get over his ex was ridiculous the woman cheated on him dumped his ass and he was still trying to get back with her. for most of 90% of the book he still could not move on

and the heroine when SHE finally told him off telling him he was an idiot she regrets it and makes it seem like she was the one in the bad. NO YOU WERE NOT!!! how can you find a man who pines over and over for a woman who cheated on him sexy who tells you over and over that he can't move on is that really a man you want??

After endless thoughts of giving up and countless times closing and re-opening the book, I finally made it through! This book was such a struggle but stubborn me didn’t want to give up on a book. I just had to finish it.

description

My usual ratings are between 3 and 5 though I rarely rate 3. Since I had so many problems with this story and had already planned a few times on giving up I just couldn’t rate it higher than 2. I had hoped that there would be at least something in this book that would change my mind on the rating though such a turnaround sadly never happened. I'd like to tell you that I would give the author another chance though at the moment my judgment is kind of damaged and I'd rather not read a book of hers soon. I have to go and lick my wounds first.

description

The Story:
Two strangers go through their heartbreaks and when they find and confide in each other they give each other strength during this hard time. Though when something gets better, it's not guaranteed to always stay that way. The challenge for both of them starts when life gets tough again.

Thoughts:
!! Please bear in mind that even though I tried not to I’ll probably start rambling a bit about some stuff not everyone will agree on but this is my honest opinion on this book and I just wanted to tell it in a nice way. I hope it doesn’t come across as mean.

I was so excited when I started to read this book because it's the first for me by this author and since so many people love her I had to jump on the Bella Jewel Train. The blurb was interesting and I liked that it was an MC Novel.

So, we have an amazing author and an interesting story, what happened now that I rated so low?
See, I started reading with the expectation of reading an MC book and all I've gotten was a girl acting like a virgin teenager dealing with her first heartbreak. This could've still been good if the main character wasn't so annoying and immature. She always put the blame on others and even people she didn't know and the worst for me was that she repeated herself a hundred times. Everything she said, she said over and over again. The story was repetitive and boring.

I was annoyed with Molly and her inner monologue since the first few pages though I didn't give up. I tried to pull through because I've hoped that it would get better. When I reached 30% I really planned on giving up because I doubted that it would get any better. Though since I never DNF a book I struggled with myself and finally decided to give it another try to finish it. I finally made it after what felt like reading forever.

description

Let me give you some examples on why I couldn't deal with this story:
(The things mentioned below may not be spoilers to some of you but I just wanted to make sure and hide my post from here on in case someone doesn’t want to know any details before reading the book)

Since there was a lot of Roman's story in this book I would have liked to read some from his POV but we just got Molly's which made it monotonous and as I mentioned a few times now, Molly annoyed the hell out of me.

I was disappointed that there wasn't much of the MC involved. Yeah we met some of the members but I really thought this was about some badass bikers. Jack was at least one character I liked in this book. He had some fun personality and I may even be intrigued to read his book.

Review by Lisa Kane

Molly is the daughter of Santana and Maddox from the Joker's Wrath series. She's just gotten dumped by her boyfriend Michael and she's hurting. She's trying to move on, but he doesn't even answer her calls or her texts. If she just knew why he wanted out she could cope with things better. When she runs into a friend of a friend, Roman she feels a nice connection. Turns out he lives near her.

Roman is fresh off a recent break up too. His girlfriend dumped him and he's been trying to get some closure himself. Molly and Roman starts to hang out, and things just feel right. But of course they cross the friendship line, start having sex and things get somewhat complicated. They tell each other they are friends who just enjoy being with each other.

Molly may be taking things more seriously than Roman is, because things are about to go south really quickly. Roman's ex gets wind that he may be moving on and she's not going to let that happen. The chick's got a real dog in the manger attitude. She may not want him but she'll be damned if anyone else is going to have him.

This is where I lost my connection to the story. Molly is fresh off one break up and is going down the same path all over again. Freaking out over someone who isn't worth it (at least in my eyes he isn't). Roman is back and forth all over about his ex girl and I just wanted to kick this guy to the curb. Can you say doormat? These two have way too much drama with this rebound romance. How much hurt does Molly have to feel and why do guys minimize relationships when it's convenient for them?

I usual fall in love with Bella Jewel's characters, but Bestie was a miss for me.

Nope, I'm so sad but this one just didn't do it for me. I really struggled to get through it and finish it.

I loved their friendship but I wasn't feeling them together as a couple. And Roman, with this book being part of the Joker's Wrath series (which I loved), I was comparing him to the previous heroes from the other books in this series and he just didn't match up.. Hung up on his ex who kept stringing him along. I didn't like the way he treated Molly. I mean I loved their friendship, the texting and the dorky nicknames and the love that was there as friends, but as a couple in a relationship it just didn't work for me. And especially after that I just didn't see them working as a couple anymore.

If this had been a stand alone book not part of the Jokers Wrath series I probably would've looked at it different. But with it being part of the series and it being so different I didn't enjoy it.

Let's be besties

Please note this is not your typical MC romance, Molly is the daughter of the President of the MC but there is no club business violence etc this is a chance meeting, fate romance and can be read as a stand alone.

I love Bella Jewel & I love mc reads but this was different to previous books.

Bestie I just liked, I suppose every characters story needs to be told but I found this immature at times and the characters irritating.

Molly and Roman both fresh out of breakups and fatefully run into one another.

Molly seems the more mature and brushes herself off to move on, Roman mopes around and expects Molly who is falling for him to be his champion and entertainment so he can stop thinking about his ex.

Well written as always by Bella Jewel but the characters weren't for me.

Looking forward to Jack & Baylee's story, had little glimpses of it in this book and can't wait for that.

I'm not rating this because I don't want to hurt one of my favorite gals. I've read tons of Bella's books and typically love them. I just couldn't finish this one. Moving on to the next book in this series. I'm sure the Bella Jewel we love will rock this next one.

Alright, get ready for an "I'm in the minority" review!

I will start with how much I love Bella Jewel and all her work, how I look forward to every single book she graces us with, and her skill in crafting this book universe that consists of characters from her Jokers Wrath MC books, MC Sinners books, hell even her 'Til Death and Amore books are set in the same universe and intertwine with each other! How awesome is that?! So I'm all pumped for this book and it pains me to say that I struggled to finish this book as well as finally deliver this review. Really quick question before I move onto anything else..am I the only one to notice that for some reason these kids all talk with British slang? Because the characters from the previous books I mentioned above used super American slang. Why was that? It didn't affect my rating, it just threw me off and I wanted to know why.

Onto the review! Molly and Roman are both completely broken people who just got emotionally beat down by their ex's. They find each other right when they need someone who understands what they're going through and decide to become friends. Of course they are friends for a while and then decide to sleep together (we all know how that works), get feelings, have a falling out, you know the standard routine of things. One issue I have with these characters is how incredibly immature they seemed, pretty sure their supposed to be like early twenties? Felt like teens. They really didn't have much depth to me, not that I was able to properly gage Roman as this story is only told from Molly's POV. That girl has a ridiculous amount of internal monologue, I skipped a lot of her overthinking. I also skipped the last 3 of the 6 times (rough estimates) she is telling someone or thinking about how evil Roman's ex is for what she is doing to him.

And Roman?! I got whiplash from all his decision making/mood swings. Going back and forth a few times on whether you want to be with someone, I totally get. Letting someone so CLEARLY string you along while you have already expressed deep feelings for someone else you consider your best friend and have started sleeping with is where I had to draw the line. I've been where Roman's been before, but I didn't let my ex change their mind twenty times before I realized they were messing with me and walked away from them forever. Roman's character came off weak to me and it made me sad because Bella's men are normally so sturdy and clear minded.

Sadly this book was not a win for me, and I really mean it, I'm sad I wasn't in love with it because I love all her books. I applaud her for writing something so close to her life, that takes lots of courage. I will read Valiant in hopes it's better, we'll see.

I submitted a request to the publisher/author to read and voluntarily review an uncorrected advance reader's copy of this book

I have devoured every book by Bella Jewel that I could get my hands as soon as it was available and I especially love her motor cycle romances. Needless to say, I was giddy to become a part of Joker Wrath's world again and meet another couple created from Bella Jewel's imaginations, especially after reading that a lot of her inspiration for Molly and Roman's story came from Bella's own life. She soon draws me in and has me immersed in every slow rolling tear, bout of uncontrollable laughter, round of passion, and every searing pain of heartbreak that Molly and Roman experience on their journey in Bestie.

Molly, Maddox's daughter, has just had her heart stomped on by her boyfriend and is sitting among the wreckage when a sexy guy that she barely knows stops to talk and soon becomes so much more. I love the way Bella showed us her and Roman's budding relationship through funny and sexy text, off the wall phone conversations, and ever increasing sexual tension. I admired the strength that Molly shows with her unwavering love and loyalty to Roman.

Roman is also an owner of a newly shattered heart until the beautiful and funny Molly comes into his life and he soon finds himself ready to move on but sometimes your past just doesn't want to let go and keeps holding on. Roman is hot as hell whether he is relaxing with Molly and sharing hilarious stories, or seducing her with his sexy moves. I adored this hero but at times wanted to shake the stupidity out of him while wanting to comfort him at the same time. Bella made him beautifully flawed and equally loveable.

Bella Jewel delivers another romance that is high on heat with lots of humor, and hits you right in the heart. I highly recommend Bestie for a romance that has you laughing through the tears and heals broken hearts along the way. I was ecstatic to step back into the Joker's Wrath club, my only complaint is leaving them to soon. I can't wait to read more about Molly and Roman in Jack and Bailey's story and look forward to seeing more of the leather wearing, bike riding hotties. Please give us more of your sexy bikers Bella!

*** I voluntarily read an ARC copy of this book for an honest review ***

4.5 STARS

Bella Jewel has a way of taking rugged, alpha males and sassy heroines and creating possibly the best raw romances ever. I have been an avid reader of this author for a while now and no joke, I have read every single one of her books. She is a writer who continues to surprise me with her imagination and creativity. Before I read the book, she wrote that Bestie was based on a lot of real memories and somehow this made this book that much sweeter. This is much different to the rest of her books in the Joker's Wrath MC and the MC Sinner's Next Generation series. While this still features a lot of the other characters we have come to love, this is more separate from the club and more focused on just the hero and heroine. Roman and Molly.

Two people who become "besties" within hours of really meeting each other. Two people who were somehow meant to meet. Meant to be there for each other because someone up there realised they needed each other. Each suffering from their own heartbreak and heartache, they become each other's sounding boards. They help the other person heal and in the process, manage to heal themselves. But some complications arise and threaten their friendship. Will they overcome this obstacle or will it crush them? Who knows. I guess you'll just have to read and find out. But be prepared for a lot of weird humour (and I'm not even joking with how much smiling and laughing I did while reading this), balanced out by a proper amount of angst and emotion, with a dollop of angry alpha males and some really, really hot sex scenes. I have always appreciated a good friends to lovers romance, and this one probably takes the cake. We all need a male bestie to get through the toughest of times, cheer us up when we're down and just be comfortable with each other. And Bella Jewel has portrayed this throughout her book to a T.

Loved this book so much. I definitely recommend it!

Friends, Lovers, MC, Heartbreak, Humor, Twists, Turns, EVERYTHING.

I'm not a huge MC fan, but I gave this one a go because of the blurb. I'm so glad I did. It had a little bit of everything you could want in a romance novel (see dictionary of words above)

As this was my first Bella Jewel book, I didn't know what to expect but I wasn't disappointed, and I'm super happy I could read as a standalone. (Looks like I gotta go back and read the first four!)

Molly, God Love her!
Roman reminds me of my best friend (except mine's gay)

I won't spoil it, you just have to take my word for it, it's an amazing book!

Rowan and Molly are both going through a bad breakup and looking for something new, not a relationship per se, but a friendship. And that’s what they get…. But they never expected their connection to jump to another level… And I think a lot of us can relate to both of them. We’ve all had our heart broken and want/need that one person to lean on. Another great book by Bella!!!

While I really relished the 'Jokers Wrath MC' series, this one; not so much. Really had a difficult time getting through this book. Kept waiting for something to happen and no.

I loved the book . I just finished it , I hoped Bella Jewel is making a second part of the book , then go onto with Jacks story. I just hope the next books for the kids will be more grown up and more familiar and friends.

Molly and Roman are trying to over the heartbreak they are both going through. When they bump into each other things start looking up. They begin by exchanging text messaages. They decide to become besties and its a friendship like they have never known. They can talk about anything, joke and just have a great time.
No surprise when they start getting intimate with each other. The problem is Roman has still not been able to break loose from his ex. He still talks to her and she keeps reeling him back in.
Molly was able to finally see what Michael was and had no problems of moving on. I was getting frustrated with Roman though. How can someone be so unaware when someone treats them like that? I just wanted him to get over it and move on.

I'm so, SO sorry I couldn't like this book. I tried, but I just couldn't and it pains me to give such a low rating to a book in a series and an author that I adore.

I just couldn't force myself to like the main characters, at all, neither Molly nor Roman. I could get over them becoming besties overnight, their forced funny banter and I did appreciate how real the foundation of the story was, but they just needed to man up and communicate. Especially since it was described as so easy and in sync between them. I was so tired of Molly suppressing her feelings and keeping Roman on such a high pedestal. No, he wasn't perfect and for a grown-ass man, he should have acted more mature!
