This is another cool story.

We had an Atari. 2600. When my parents got a a C64 in 5th grade, I wasn't allowed to get games.

We had a tape drive and the computer. In 6th grade, I got a printer.

In 7th grade, I saved up and bought myself a 1541 floppy drive, the C64 Programmer's Reference Manual, and a Light Pen with software.

This was the beginning of my lifelong journey into exploring computers.

This book is amazing and you can learn all about machine architecture, programming, machine language, BASIC, and more. Highly recommended for thr C-64 enthusiast!

Two stars “it’s ok” for the mail prose. Not the clarity I have come to expect from programming books and things are presented out of order at times.

Five stars “it’s amazing” for the reference material. Truly exemplary! To the point, detailed writing, lots of timing and pinout diagrams, just fantastic. You could write a really decent emulator with just this material.
