Nephi, Nephi, the Scriptures Are True

Rate this book
Nephi, Nephi, the scriptures are true. Tell me what they say about you? I followed the Lord through desert sand And sailed a ship to the promised land. Similar to bestselling children’s books Brown Bear, brown Bear, What Do You See? and Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? Comes a new, oversized, illustrated book teaching young Latter-day Saints many important events in the Book of Mormon. The simple, rhythmic words crafted by Anita Wells combined with the elaborate, detailed art of Neal Anderson will help children learn about the faith, determination, and courage of thirteen people from the Book of Mormon. The final page features a beautiful, panoramic illustration of the Savior with supporting text that teaches children that all the prophets testified of Jesus Christ.

Anita's favorite thing is to watch all four of her kids engrossed in a book at the same time.
Her BYU degree is in Near Eastern Studies, which means that she used to speak Hebrew. She also has a MLIS from Drexel University and loves to hang out in libraries. Nephi, Nephi is unfortunately out of print, but it is available used on Amazon, or at Utah libraries, and she is happy to autograph a copy if you have one.

Anita does a beautiful job simplifying stories from the Book of Mormon to make them understandable for pre-schoolers. The original artwork is world class with large, recognizable faces that pull young children in.

The will be a great addition to any LDS home for FHE, bedtime stories, or having something even the very youngest can have to "read" during scripture study.

Although no longer in print, it is still widely available from used book sellers in the Amazon marketplace.

As the author, I have to say that this is a fabulous book :-) Promotes children's scriptural learning with catchy rhymes and detailed illustrations. Unfortunately, it is now out of print. Turn the Mormon page upside down and read the names of the illustrator's family on the gold plates!

Written by my friend and fellow goodreads member. This is a great book for sharing with children. There are so few books out there that reenforce Book of Mormon characters for children. This one does a great job!
