This book is a resource and a textbook and provides images that inspire dreams for those who love a well-designed and decorated space in which to live. And it works well to inspire those of us who are striving for the utopia of a well-designed space. This is not about current trends, rather it works to educate the reader in classic design across a wide variety of tastes. I find myself treating it as an inspiration for design. Having lived in over 25 different homes, I have become adept at incorporating my personal design into each new space, while incorporating pieces I have treasured for many years. They say there is nothing new under the sun and so it is about most design. There are lines and styles that retain their appeal and freshness over time. This book offers a catalog of styles, a wishlist of design, and a place to go when considering what to do with a space. It is a reference book of contemporary interior design, but to me, it offers inspiration and a sense of continuity that allows me to move forward with confidence in designing my own home-sweet-home. An excellent resouce/refernce.

This is one of the Konemann picture-only 2" design books. The many interiors photographed would surely inspire anyone to do more than paint the walls white and take a hike down to the local Ikea.
