Dawn of the Knight I - Xeltian Invitation

Rate this book
In the spring of 220 Minores, the world of Xeltia brought its black army to bear down upon the kingdoms of mankind. Led by the Corrupter and her Knight, they sought the Collapse - a fate worse than death, encompassing all and never to be undone.

Yet as the three kings united and the true knights arose, the onslaught was met on the eastern plains of Rolace. Many lives were ended, kingdoms shattered, but in the end the terrible evil was driven away. An era of flourishing peace would follow, which men called the Dawn.

But decades would pass, and this would become legend. True knights would fade, and the Corrupter would return, once again seeking the Collapse. Her Xeltian Knight would pit the hearts of man against his brothers using their anger, greed, and lust. There would be no united resistance this time... Only a boy seeking to fulfill a promise.

'Dawn of the Knight I - Xeltian Invitation' is the action-packed tale of Egon who, along with his friends, embarks upon a perilous quest to defeat the Xeltian Knight.

The first thing I noticed once I started reading this book was how vividly the characters were depicted. The introduction of each new character brought them to life instantly, and I very much enjoyed the interactions between the different characters. I have to say my favourite is the elf Aewulf as I found him pretty amusing throughout.

The story is fast paced and action-packed with plenty of tension. The modern dialogue makes for some humorous moments, and there is even a touch of romance in there too. There is plenty of detail to the world Vincent has created, yet without needing much in the way of descriptive scenery.

Overall I found this an entertaining and fun read, set within a well-formed and believable fantasy world. It would be suitable for younger readers/teens and I would recommend to fans of Epic Fantasy & YA Fantasy.

For all of the fantasy/epic lovers out there, Dawn of the Knight I: Xeltian Invitation by Steven M. Vincent is a book for you. This high adventure epic is action packed and full of surprises.

The author did a great job of developing the storyline. Just when you think you have the story figured out he throws in another twist and keeps you on the edge of your seat. You will not want to put this book down.

The characters are all very believable and easy to identify with. I really liked the way Steven M. Vincent developed each character into a real person and/or creature that you could believe in. The heroes were all easy to follow and relate to.

I really enjoyed Dawn of the Knight I: Xeltian Invitation by Steven M. Vincent and highly recommend it to all readers.

5 Star! I wish I could give it more. This is the best book I ever read! I think any fan of fantasy would enjoy it as much as I did.
I loved the world Steven M. Vincent created, it was realistic- yet without that boringness you get in most fantasy settings.
Narration has a fresh voice, that’s also very classic feeling. The book will make you feel cool for reading.
The characters are all really good, and I could relate with all their struggles without feeling like I’m falling in a hopeless hole of despair, like so many books I’ve read.
My favorite characters would have to be Bryin and Vara. And like another reviewer said, Aewulf is the greatest elf out there!
There’s nobody that you’re supposed to hate and wait for them to die. Unless it’s the villains in a ‘(Star Wars’)The Emperor really has to go, but it’ll be cool when he does.’ kinda way.
The book kept me guessing each flip of the page, and the ending was nothing I would have ever expected. It’s for all these reasons I gave it a 5 star and would recommend it to anyone!

Great book with around 500 pages, all full of quality. Dawn of the Knight is a must read for any fan of high fantasy! You won't find any scenes describing a single tree for 600 words either. If it were humanly possible I would of probably read it in one day, that's how hooked you get. Egon has such a special personality, he can fill you with courage as you read. I thought all the characters were great and the book respects traditional fantasy myths like elves and dwarves we'll seamlessly inter grading them into the world. Giving them a updated but still classical feel.
