Emma Meade writes paranormal fiction. She lives in rainy Ireland and loves all things supernatural. Stephen King's The Stand is one of her most loved books and she's lost count of the number of times she's read L.J. Smith's trilogy, The Forbidden Game.
Books, DVDS & TV show boxsets take up lots of space in her home and she collects all the Point Horror books she can get her hands on.
She is not ashamed to admit that Dirty Dancing and Twilight make her top ten movie list but wishes to point out that The Last of the Mohicans, Reality Bites, Dead Poets Society, Stand by Me and The Goonies are in there too.
Writing supernatural stories & watching marathon re-runs of Buffy are some of her favourite ways of escaping reality.
Tristan and his band are a sensation. Their rock concerts are jam-packed show after show. There’s nothing he loves more than performing before a screaming mass of fans. Well, except for her.
Alex loves Tristan, can’t keep her hands off him. There’s just one problem. He’s a vampire, but that’s not the problem. The problem is he wants to make her one too. As much as Alex loves Tristan, she doesn’t want to become a vampire.
He loved feeling her beneath him, her warm, beating body that knew his own so well. His next words were muffled into her curls but Alex heard him.
“I don’t have you completely. This world is so dangerous. You know that more than anyone Alex.”
“Shh, please,” she murmured and kissed the top of his head.
Alex doesn’t know how much longer she can put him off. Tristan is losing patience. She knows what she has to do and wishes there were any other way.
Two years later and Alex can stay away from Tristan no longer. She died a little on the day she snuck away. Seeing him, hearing his sultry voice on the stage, makes her wonder how she ever found the strength to leave. It didn’t matter now, she was here and she hoped Tristan would forgive her.
Later.
She felt his presence behind her but didn’t move, preparing herself for his questions. Finally Alex turned to face him.
“Tristan I -”
He flew at her bird-like and she hit the ground silently. Falling over her, Tristan clamped a hand over her mouth.
Alex’s chest rose and fell rapidly and her eyes were wide, pleading with him to understand. Tristan’s face was not the one she was familiar with. There was something crumpled about it, more human and paradoxically more sinister. He looked eerie now with his eyes just as wide and frightened as her own.
Slowly he removed his hand and sat back, allowing her to rise up to meet him at eye level. Both had ceased to listen to the clamour of the excited audience.
“You came back to me,” he announced as if it were an agreement.
Alex nodded, afraid now of this new Tristan. He was quieter than normal. The man she had fallen in love with had been impossible to shut up. What is it about him that changed? Maturity, it came to her. The child-like gleam in his eyes had gone.
“I missed you,” she told Tristan honestly and stroked his cheek.
He closed his eyes at the touch, lost for a second in anguish at long passed memories. Then he looked directly at her and Alex’s heart beat faster.
“Shh,” he whispered and she never got a chance to protest.
No, he doesn’t kill her. Well he does, but he doesn’t. You know what I mean.
Tristan may have changed, gained some maturity, but when it comes to his music and the band, he is still childishly stubborn.
The head of the vampire council forbids Tristan and the band from performing anymore. The risk of exposure is too dangerous.
Here’s where Tristan rebels. He and his boys continue to perform, thumbing their noses at the council. This will have consequences.
Night Sighs is several chapters in the lives of Tristan and Alex. They are insatiable and incorrigible. The sexual scenes are hot and steamy, Oh My! And there is plenty of danger and intrigue.
I read this front to back in one sitting and my only complaint is I want more. This is a great beginning and I’d love to read further into the adventures of Tristan and Alex.
If you like stories about vampires, adventure, dangerous predicaments, a bit of mystery, and steamy sensual romance, you’ll love Night Sighs. The title alone gives me goosebumps.

To start off I want to make sure I mention this is a compilation of five short stories. I myself am not a huge fan of short stories because I feel like I don't get a long enough time to really get to know the characters, or connect with them. One of my exceptions to this rule is when there is a compilation of short stories that take place in various worlds I already know, for example when you read an anthology that includes stories of Mercy Thompson's world or Sookie Stackhouse's. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this compilation of short stories.
From the first short story you are introduced to Tristan and Alex, Tristan who is a vampire and Alex who is just an ordinary human. You can tell that the two of them love each other but there is certainly more going on than meets the eyes. And the first story has a way of pulling at your heart strings in a way that is surprising and pleasant especially since it was only about 5 pages long.
The next story has to do with Tristan and Alex meeting up with each other again after a long absence. For me I think this was my least favorite of all the stories. I found the interaction between the two of them to be cold and almost in a way semi-vengeful and not in a good way. I really felt bad for Alex within this story.
Then they offer you a bit of a glimpse into a couple in love on vacation, and hey where does a vampire want to go to visit anyways? Why Egypt of course! I mean seriously with all the history and magical mojo going on with the pharaohs why wouldn't a vampire want to hang out in a tomb. Hey death is right up their alley right? I found this story to be funny and more about these two people just being together.
In story number four you find Tristan in some serious hot water. On the plus side it turns out Tristan has some friends as well as Alex who are willing to put themselves on the line to help Tristan out of this new found jam he had found himself in. I like this story because it has all kinds of elements in it, you see the love between Alex and Tristan as well as friendship and some humor.
The fifth story is really the first time you see Tristan fully understand how much he loves Alex and how much he is willing to do for her. This story I would say is the most suspenseful of the bunch and highly enjoyable. This was the one story I wanted to read quickly from beginning to end just to find out what was going to happen next.
Overall, I have to say I enjoyed all of the stories. I do have to mention they all have a lot of sex in them so this is not for the faint of heart or for those who blush easily. I would say this would be right up the alley of people who like paranormal romance or erotica. I can honestly say I would like for the author to make their story into a full length novel, because it would for sure be one I would read.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 Stars
This book consisted of 5 short stories.
I must have enjoyed this story because I woke up, checked my email - found this story waiting to be read- began it and finished it in just over an hour.
When i asked to review this book, I did not know that it was a book of short stories. I've never reviewed short stories before- but here I go anyway :)
Let's see... I wish that I felt more connected to the characters. I mean i thought they were hot and the steamy-ness was awesome but I really didnt know too much about either one of them. Alex had an ex that died- what happened? How did she find Tristan? Did Tristan know her ex? What did Tristan have to do to get Alex to be with him... We were told that he had to work harder to get Alex- I guess I'd just like to know all of the details.
^All of that probably has everything to do with the fact that I am use to reading novels. So I guess I would like to see Alex and Tristans stories turned into a full fledged novel! :)
I thought the writing style of Emma was lovely and she does a good job with her descriptions. Most of the stories held my attention but I found "The Ancients" seemed strange to me though. I think i really wanted answers about the dead coming back to life and if that only happened at night? Or only happened when other's of the "undead" were around? Or why they were so sexual? PLus, I kept. expecting something bad to happen... Maybe Tristan and the Pharaoh fight for Alex... I'm not sure, but it just seemed like it was missing something important.
I have to say these kind of books are hard to rate and review, because they are so short and you don't want to give out any important details. I will do my best not to spoil any of it for you.
This novella consisted of 5 short stories revolving around Tristan and Alex and their relationship and how it progressed. The first story: The Dead Beats, we are introduced to this couple. This one starts out very passionate and ends with a shocking twist. One I didn't see coming and though I understand why he did it, I am not sure I would have been too thrilled with him if had with me.
You all know my love for vampires and I have another love as well, music and this author combined the two to create Tristan. He was a bit possessive, or maybe obsessive of Alex , which is why it led him to the decision he made in the first story.
The Second Story: The Ancients, they travel to Egypt and I can say this one was a bit spooky, quite fitting for this time of year. The Third Story: Until My Body is Dust, where the action really kicked into gear. I can't say too much because I don't want to spoil it. The Fourth Story: Bourbon and Jazz, after the craziness in Story 2, they traveled to New Orleans, just when they thought they could relax there was more action. And finally Story 4: West of Forever ; The happiness they were both searching for.
While I did like this novella, I just wished it could have been more, parts seemed a bit rushed. I am not the type that has to have a lot of detail, I just would have liked to have more. Other than that I did enjoy this adventure with Tristan and Alex. I hope to read more of them in the future. Maybe divulge into their past a little bit.
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Night Sighs by Emma Meade was a short collection of 5 stories about a vampire couple, Alex & Tristan. Starting sometime after they've met, been a couple, and been separated, the stories follow them through her transformation and their early adventures.
Alex and Tristan make such a delightful couple that I hope the author will back up and combine these stories into a longer offering and provide more on their back stories. Really, I need MORE.
Not only are the characters great but so are the author's descriptions of settings and action. I could really feel the atmosphere it was so well developed. Smooth action writing is a definite strength.
I highly recommend this book but DON'T start it while on break at work...it was difficult for me to put it away and return to the job.
Night Sighs follow Tristan and Alex two lovers that are drawn to one another despite challenges between individual beliefs and outside forces.
Tristan is a vampire, handsome, enigmatic and extremely talented; he is a musician/lead vocalist, who is able to mesmerize his entire audiences with just his voice.Tristan accepts who he is, as a vampire he hunts and fully relishes all that makes up his nature. Alex, human and at the start of the book, she is torn between her humanity and being in love with Tristan and accepting the parts of his nature that disturbs her, the parts that is difficult to reconcile on how humans are to be treated….basically not as food…Also, Alex, enjoys the benefits of her humanity, sunlight and other such sources that Tristan is unable to partake of, but there lies such a passion between the two, a drawing to Tristan that she cannot deny. But deny she must try…and she leaves him…
The next story(There are five stories that make up the book) …time has passed and Alex is drawn to a concert where Tristan is performing, she doesn’t know why, but she is…and it is as if time had stopped and their feelings had never changed. Alex, although living life, seemed to live it under the shadow of the passion and love for Tristan and vice versa, so when they meet in person again, and it is confirmed that Alex is back… Tristan makes a shocking move!
REVIEW
I was taken into the story at the very beginning. There was such raw passion from page one, that there was absolutely no way I was going to put down that book…I read it in one sitting! Just the way Ms. Meade describes Tristan, of course undeniably handsome…beautiful as Alex calls him. That is what he is…and in his own way, although he is a fully grown man, he has an innocence that belies his age and his vampire nature; Tristan has two great loves…Music and Alex…and it appears as the story goes, he’s subject to losing one or the other at various times…Although the passion drew me in, the connection between the two characters kept me enthralled…
I believe the most shocking…and the most apparent part of the book for me...(SPOILER ALERT!!!!)…was when upon meeting again…Tristan, part in anger and retaliation of Alex leaving him….and part in assuring she will never do so again…he instantly kills and turns her….literally, my mouth hung open and I was surprised to say the least…It inhabited such brutality, the way he left her to make the transition into her new life on her own…and it showed the amount of pain he obviously suffered at losing her…As if he had died…(again)
But the book, was beautifully written, moving…funny at times…I loved the references to music and artists…(such as the Boss…Bruce Springsteen!)
I believe anyone that is a fan of the genre, has found a new voice to celebrate in that of Emma Meade…I look forward to what she has in store for us in the future!
What’s a mortal girl to do if her boyfriend is rakishly handsome, determinedly immature with amazing sex appeal? Simple, right? But what if he’s also this generations most popular rock star and a vampire? Not so easy if you’re human…and recovering from the loss of your last boyfriend. So begins the story of Alex and her sexy vampire lover, Tristan.
Emma Meade, through a series of five vignettes weaves the tale of the immortal Tristan and Alex, the lovely woman with whom he’s fallen in love. Tristan is used to getting what he wants…and why not? He’s a talented rock star with the typical celebrity’s propencity for narcissism and immaturity. Alex is a woman who met Tristan after losing her last fiance to death. Life has given her no choice but to grow up. She loves Tristan… but does she love him enough to take the final step in the journey and join him for all eternity? Good question. Would you?
I really enjoyed these 5 sexy little interlocking stories that gave us glimpses into the lives of Alex and Tristan. Though immature, there’s something sweet and raw and loveable about our hero. In fact, I believe by making him less than perfect, he became more charming. And he really loves his woman. Alex, the heroine, was no wilting flower. She was strong, with a mind of her own and willing to fight for the things she wants in life…once she decides what that is.
Ms Meade has a passion for the supernatural, and it shines through in her writing. In this vignettes you will find a lovely balance of sex (of course there’s got to be sex…he’s a vampire! If Damon Salvatore from Vampire Diaries decided he wanted me…even if I wasn’t sure if I wanted forever with him, I wouldn’t turn down a romp in the sack!), action, romance and sweet.
If you’re in the mood to bite into something fun and playful, I recommend you check out Night Sighs Emma Meade
Night Sighs by Emma Meade puts a unique spin on the roller coaster evolution of a modern day relationship. In this collection of short stories newly widowed Alexandra meets exotic vampire rock star, Tristan, who will change her life forever. Each story picks up at different intervals in their relationship and shows a believable evolution to their relationship that keeps it steamy and exciting.
I love rock star heroes and Tristan is incredibly appealing. While there is a slight similarity to the Vampire Lestat, the author acknowledges this and actually jokes about it which made this story rather endearing. Starting off, Tristan only cares for his desires but as the story progresses he matures and makes a more worthy mate to Alexandra. After almost losing her he realizes her true value and will do anything to keep her safe...including giving up his rock star lifestyle. Alex's always been the more mature of the two and she repeatedly proves that throughout the story as she shows some pretty kickass vampire slayer moves when necessary. She's able to keep her emotions better under control and I found her character remained the same throughout the story, strong-willed from start to finish.
Ms. Meade packed quite a bit into this series of short stories. While we don't dig too deeply into the character's lives there's just enough to make us care about them and their outcome. The sexual interludes are sexy and nicely paced throughout the collection and showed a deepening connection to their relationship. There's some great action sequences as well that kept me turning the pages as fast as possible. This story offers an entertaining interlude and I'm intrigued by what I read here to read more by Ms. Meade.
I began reading Night Sighs and immediately, was hooked. It was one of those reads that whether or not you want to put it down, you feel as if you have to finish it. It's difficult to find something that yanks you right in and doesn't want to let you go. And hey, who doesn't want to keep on reading smokin' hot sex scenes, right? However, I would've enjoyed that steaminess much more if I'd connected with the characters both during, and beforehand. There's no doubting the connection and chemistry between Alex and Tristan, and it would be absurd to just reveal it all up front. But from the beginning, there was a need for some sort of history between the two. I wanted more right away!! From the start, I'd hoped to feel a sense of Tristan and Alex as two, instead of one. A sense of their own selves, in order to better balance the obvious connection. The descriptions were vivid, very visual and intricate. I could practically see, hear, and touch all of it. The elements, the characters, situations, etc., have even more possibility than they were given. And that, I believe, is why it might be best to bring the stories together as one. The greatest flaws have opportunity to become strengths instead by choosing a complete story instead of five. I want to know more!! The subject-matter is intriguing, and I truly enjoyed it, but I need (and most of all, WANT!!) more background!! I'm going for 3.5 stars. Strangely, I enjoyed the potential most of all. Because the essence IS there, it needs only answers to several silent questions.

I'm going to start this review off with a note to the author...Emma, you are a horrid tease!! These short stories are very well written but leave you wanting for more. Alex is an independent female who is in love with a rather immature vampire. She loves the fact she is alive, but can she live without Tristan? The first story outlays the conflict in the relationship. Tristan comes off as in charge and obsessive over Alex. Alex is confused about what she really wants. She decides to leave him, not realizing a huge chunk of her soul was left behind. Tristan is completely crushed and turns to music as an outlet. His band, The Dead Beats, is bringing a lot of unwanted attention to the vampire community. This is how Alex finds Tristan 2 years later, at a concert. But she receives the shock of her life, when he comes off stage to get her!! Emma has a wonderful opportunity to turn these short stories into an excellent full length novel. Seriously, once you read through this collection, you want more details!! Like how did Alex and Tristan meet? How long did their love affair last? And I have a growing list of questions every time I rethink the premise! I really enjoyed these little glimpses in their world! This collection is definitely worth reading!!
A short, sweet read about two star-crossed lovers. Tristan is a vampire with an almost childlike enthusiasm for everything. Alex, having already lost her fiance, is a human with a darker outlook on life. Throughout the short stories we accompany these two characters through turning points in their lives. The night Alex leaves Tristan behind... The night she finally decides to come back... The night Alex almost loses Tristan forever... You get the point.
I have to admit to being a little disappointed when I read Night Sighs. Not disappointed in the writing. It was actually very well written. It was more a feeling of "that's it?" It felt more like a teaser to a good book. It's the same feeling you get when you're sitting in a movie theater waiting for your movie to begin and all you're watching are trailers to upcoming flicks. You only get to see the highlights but none of what makes the movie worth watching. In Night Sighs, you're reading highlights of the two characters life together, but you're not really getting a story. I would have liked to see a little more character development. Night Sighs has the potential to be a great full length story given some time and a lot of body.
I liked Night Sighs, but I had hoped to love it. It consists of several short stories following the sometimes troubled romance of the beautiful, mortal Alex and Tristan, a vampire blessed with the gift of music and a special talent for attracting danger. I loved the premise, but felt the book fell just short of what I was expecting.
Meade is a great writer with a talent for expression and wordplay. Definitely not a problem there. It was the stories themselves that I struggled with. The stories for me were disjointed, and at times, random. I liked the first story, The Dead Beats. Tristan is HOT and the romance was scorching, which is something that I felt didn’t let up throughout the book, which is good. But the connection between the stories? I just didn’t get it.
The Ancients was quite random and seemed very out of place for this book, but Bourbon & Jazz was pretty cute and filled with a good amount of action. Until My Body is Dust and West of Forever were just not that memorable for me, but nevertheless, I liked this book and will most likely read more from this author if ever given the opportunity.
This is a very short book of a few short stories revolving around Alex and Tristan. The first story is an introduction to the characters where we discover that Tristan is a vampire and Alex is a troubled human with a sorrowful past who loves him, but can't live with the idea of eternity. The second is a story about Tristan becoming a Lestat like rock star and rediscovering Alex, who he turns. The third is the story of how Tristan is forbidden from exposing vampire further and is captured and escapes, the fourth of Tristan and Alex's vacation to view an ancient vampire burial, and the last is an escapade to New Orleans.
The stories aren't bad, they read quickly, but they are short stories, so don't look for any deep character background or motivation. They are fun little paranormal romances and if you like that thing, these are inoffensive. I can recommend to lovers of short story and paranormal romance who want a quick, if lite read with no deeper expectations. There are adult scenes, so no YA. These are just your average, run of the mill romances stories that happen to involve supernatural beings.
The Dead Beats, The Ancients, Until Body Is Dust, Bourbon & Jazz and West of Forever are the short stories that make up 'Night Sighs'. Alex and Tristan star in these tales as an unusual couple. He's a vampire and seemingly a big kid at heart. She is a human who lost the love her life. Together they live a very exciting life. From being a rock star with a huge fan base for him, to turning her and running from the British Vampire government board. These two share a love and romance equal to none.
I don't want to say a whole lot or it will spoil the short stories for you, but these bursts of excitement will liven up any day for you. I found them to be fun, sexy and diary like. It amazes me how passionate these short stories are, yet they tell of a great love. I encourage you to buy 'Night Sighs' and keep up with Alex and Tristan. I'm sure we haven't heard the last of them.
I didn't find any issues with these stories.
I gave this one 5 out of 5 books because they were just the added spice the day needed.
Night Sighs is a collection of short stories about vampires Tristan and Alex by Irish author Emma Meade. My favorites were The Dead Beats, Bourbon & Jazz, and West Of Forever. DB for the level of passion. B&J for the lovely integration of setting and story. And WOF for making me want to book a ticket to Galway and belly up to the bar with a gill of Jameson.
Meade reveals her love of vampires stories with nods to Lestat and BTVS, but Tristan and Alex are characters with all their own motivations. The descriptions are delivered with an allure equal to that you would suppose a vampire to have. Given my own tastes I only wish the same level of description were applied to the love scenes which Meade can definitely write – I just wanted more. Meade adheres to the common vampire traits while laughing at her own use of tropes, “They were being held in the cellar of a castle on the coast…How much more gothic could you get.” All in all this is a wonderful set of shorts and I look forward to reading more by Ms. Meade.
Comprised of 5 short stories revolving around Tristan, rock star and vampire, and Alex, his human-turned-vampire love. Each story is surprisingly complex and shows the depth of their emotions for one another. The only story that I didn't really see as progressing their overall arc was the one where they went to Egypt. I still found it enjoyable, I just didn't get the same vibe off of it as the others. I loved Tristan's reaction when Alex is attacked and the realization that he could have so lost her so quickly.
A very fast read, it ends up being quite satisfying while leaving you wanting to know more about these two star-crossed lovers.
I enjoyed this book I just wished it was longer. Tristan was very Lestat like!! Alex was awesome!! I would love to know more about there world!! So for a short story it was good
I am a huge paranormal fan. So when I saw this, I jumped at the chance to read it. I liked these short stories. It is a quick read, but very enjoyable.
This short read comes in at around 19000 words and I particularly enjoyed the format. This is a collection of 5 short stories that maps quite a long period of time in our H/h life. Due to the time gap between each story, I actually felt that I knew a lot of their tale. It was a very clever way of making the character and story development high for a novella that literally took me 45 minutes to get through. At £0.77 on amazon, I felt that it is well priced and showcased the writing style of the author very well: I will be checking out more adult fiction from this author (she has a YA novella too, but I don't read that genre too much!).
As for our H/h, I actually enjoyed reading about them. Tristan was a very Lestat type character and from the selfish way that he created Alex (because he couldn't bear to be without her), the attention seeking behaviour and the devil-may-care attitude he was fun to read about. I did like that he cared enough about Alex to feel remorse when he got her into trouble, but kinda wish that he hadn't put her in that position in the first place. As for Alex, I liked her character. She knew what she was getting into with Tristan so she really has no one to "blame" for her situation. I liked her kick ass attitude when it came to her man.
I did, however, have a problem with the length in regards to the side plots and characters mentioned in this tale. I say mentioned because that is what they were; the length gave little room for anything else. I do not often moan about the length of a book but, in this instance, I felt it really did impact the flow of the story. Some things needed more explanation for me to actually understand their place in the lives of our H/h and therefore enjoy their addition.
All around this was a fun read that made me want to read more from this author. If you like vampires then this should be something you check out. A bite sized chunk from characters I hope I hear more from
In Night Sighs we follow the relationship and adventures of Tristan & Alex through five short stories: “The Dead Beats”, “The Ancients”, “Until My Body Is Dust”, “Bourbon & Jazz” and “West of Forever”.
Emma Medae found the inspiration of writing about Alex and Tristan after seeing a Bruce Springsteen video. Now, my mum is a huge Springsteen fan and she used to make me listen to his music since I was in her belly so, could I not have appreciated this particular? And I did it as much as the fact that Tristan was a Springsteen fan! Of course, if only I could hear Tristan’s music for real, I’m pretty sure I’d be his fan as well!
I really enjoyed reading Night Sighs, a shame the story goes too fast, but then they’re short stories and you can’t pretend a long development even if it’s something you’d really like to see/read. I personally ‘lived’ the book like I was seeing flashes of memories of an intriguing couple, and my imagination went wild trying to figure out what was behind everything . . . “Until My Body Is Dust” was my fave because I totally saw a series in there. Bad guys, danger, friendship, love, rescue . . . I really like Emma’s writing style, intriguing, sensual and yes, funny! I hope to read more from her, and about Alex and Tristan, of course!
I received a free copy of this book from the Author for an honest review. This does not affect in any way my opinion of the book nor the content of my review—originally posted on Darkest Sins.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this collection of short stories. On one hand, the imagery presented is sharp, and Ms. Meade’s portrayal of how a relationship matures is quite refreshingly accurate. Both Tristan and Alex are shown to have insecurities, jealousies, and by the end genuine, passionate love for each other.
However, this passionate, heady, all-consuming love that the main characters have for one another more or less forces the promising plot lines in each of these stories to the background. Places in the story where I normally would have been reading in anticipation about the next escape, or plot twist were often turned into a very passionate (and well written) sex scene. It was fun to read, but it often left me wanting more—more twists, more plot, and more character development.
This collection is a wonderful start to a stronger, more substantial story involving Tristan, Alex, The Deadbeats and the dark, passionate world of Vampires as envisioned by Ms. Emma Meade. It is my hope that she continues to write and show us what she has to offer. After all anyone who can make a pale thin childish man sound completely sexy certainly has a great deal of potential.
Emma Meade has a great idea with Night Sighs, telling the story of her lovers in short story form. It makes for a fast read, but the work as a whole doesn't quite hang together. The stories take for granted that the reader understands vampiric legend and myth and doesn't add anything original or exciting to spice it up. The Ancients leads us down a path of potential but stops before any action actually occurs. Until My Body is Dust could be a very exciting story with the addition of more details, a little history about the Authorities, and a search and rescue that's not quite so straight forward and improbable.
The writing is good overall but the stories lack the details and tension that make the reader want to keep reading. Night Sighs is a good beginning that with a little more texture will make for an enjoyable read.
Basically, Night Sighs is 5 short stories about two star-crossed lovers. While reading this I was a bit disappointed because I didn't really get any depth about the characters. I wish I got a little more of their history and emotions maybe that would have made it easier to connect with the characters and understand their love. There were some very sexy scenes and the book and I enjoyed those ;). I was a bit confused with some of the plots of the stories because like I said before I never really got any depth about what went on with "The Ancients" or in the pharos tomb. Emma's writing style was easy to comprehend and I enjoyed reading. Over All it was a really good read and I guess it 2and half stars for me.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
For what it was, this was a quick and cute read, but I feel that here was a definite lack of character development. So many unanswered questions. Perhaps this is because I'm used to full novels instead of short stories, but I was just not able to really get into any of the stories besides the first one.
I really did like the first one, but past that, they didn't seem to have the same edge.
I feel that if these characters were written into a full novel with solid character development, I'd read it in a heartbeat.
I enjoyed reading the stories about Tristan and Alex, but to be honest the short story installments were a little awkward to me. The music theme and fun adventure in the stories made up for installment bit I didn't like. But for a typical vampire, paranormal romance, it was definitely a fun read. I want their story to continue and develop; I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a short, fun read.

This was nice short collection of a series of stories about a rocker vampire and his love. They were short, and as it goes on it gets better. There is a lot of sex, which seems a little repetative, but it's not bad. It isn't quite my cup of tea, but it wasn't a time waster.
I love paranormal romance. As I got started reading this, I thought that it started off pretty slow. But once you get into it, I just couldn't put it down at all. I feel that the author did a great job at writing of these short stories. I would definitely read more stories by this author
