long drawn out minor mystery that seems to continue over many books. I don't care enough to read more in the series to find out. The gratuitous mentions of prayer and God are lame and out of place.
I had read the series before, sometime ago, when the first few pages mentioned Marco the puppy my memory came back. I continued to read on and I was testing my memory going on with the mystery of good cop bad cop and deaths that remain unsolved. Romance also in the mix. (I read the latest Lynette Eason book in between reading this updated-edition)>
Okay I have been spoiled. I’m used to reading books that tie off all the loose ends at the end. Like the first book, this one leaves it open, I can’t tell if the next story will connect to either of these but I plan on reading it to find out!
Two novellas by Mention and Eastland the revolve around the disappearance of donated puppies that were chipped. Murders took place and offenders hunted. A good weekend read.
Nothing grand here - the first short story was a formula write, no surprises or twists. (I did not read the second short story). As a head's up: short story one is a Christian based story.
