Stephanie Loved this book! Looks like they did pretty good with the movie.

Barlove Jesus! It spoiled the whole book. C'mon, was not necessary...

Beverly Looks ok. I would watch it. I loved the book!

Joseph Richardson I have to agree with Barlove. They showed way too much of the story. Still, as someone who's read the book, it's going to be interesting seeing how well they adapted it.

Patrick Brown Matt Damon is carving out a strange niche of "dude who gets stranded on a foreign planet" roles.

Ozh Amazing. The trailer shows THE WHOLE STORY except maybe the last 20 pages. Morons :(

Denisse LOOKS GREAT! CAN'T WAIT!

En el trailer la pelicula se ve super buena, me gustó tanto que de inmediato puse The Martian en mi To-Read shelf :)

Zep we'll see if the movie plan fares any better with contact to implementation. I think it looks pretty reasonable as an adaptation.

Ethan S. I'm really looking forward to watching this movie. It's going to be awesome! Plus it has Matt Damon in it and is directed by Ridley Scott which makes it even awesomer.... :D

Agree

Scott Ayars The book was great and I think the movie will be good too. I almost wish I hadn't read the book, so the movie would be completely fresh. I'll will still see the movie, because I enjoyed the book so much.

Caner Demircan (Book SPOILER ALERT)

he is in his suit but why can we see his face?

Because Hollywood needs to show the face for the hero. We both know that anytime he was suited up or on an EVA, he had the helmet on which concealed his face (For protection), but I think HW thinks the movie would flop if we don't see the MC's face for however long they have him in suit.

Jan Read the book sometime ago...sure, I'll go see it. Anything with Damon is worth my time.

I was worried about the comparison that might be drawn to his character in his last movie Interstellar and this one. His last character was not likable.

Tula or KathyPotter Fitzgerald Excellent Story. Excellent choice for Mark W. Couldn't think of a better person to direct this one. Agree with Ethan.

Victoria I absolutely loved this book and I cannot wait to see the movie. Based on the ad, it looks like they did a pretty good job with the movie. Also, from reading the book; they really couldn't have cast Mark Watney any better; Matt Damon is absolutely perfect!

Stella Chan Just finished reading the book last night so I can't wait to see the movie. Excellent book Andy!! I knew that Matt Damon was the actor so all I could picture was him while reading the book. Loved how you added a lot of humor into the book so I laughed quite a bit.

I couldn't put the book down since reading the very first sentence. haha.

Brooklyn I think you'd have to have read the book to feel like it spoils the story - i'm in the middle of reading it and i don't feel like it ruined it all - just because I know a few plot items - it's still all about the way it's told. A book is more than plot.

Ramon Okay - nice comments. But I saw the movie... and now I'm going to read the book.

I miss Matt Damon's action roles - where he speaks multiple languages and puts the beat down on a number of bad dudes. Maybe he's getting too old for that.

Come on Matt - man up.

I agree! I'm glad I read the book before I watched that!!!

Amber Loved this book. I don't like how they give away so much in trailers though. It was showing stuff at the end! Arg. That's why I waited till AFTER reading to book to watch the trailer.

Im in the middle of reading the book and watched about 2 minutes of this trailer and had to stop because of how closely it was following the book.

Никола Грънчаров For me this is one of very few movies that is true to the book. And Matt Damon is just perfect for Mark Watney. Honestly this is one of my favorite movies of all time.
