Elizabeth Sulzby The Good Soldiers (Finkel, 2009) is the best war book I have ever read. This video gives a voice to a part of the book. The book is painful, painful, but wonderfully written to bring the reader into the pain without turning away. I am now reading Point Omega by de Lillo--amazing synchronicity of a fictional "rendition" of the "staging" of the Araq war and torture/rendition. I also recommend Goodreads reviews by various readers who attest to the painfulness of the book and its power.
