Video Blog 8. Thoughts from a Sunday morning walk

[close] Autunno is coming to Terra d'Amore. It is still late summer elsewhere, but here, in the foothills of the Apennines, fall is coming; for the last three mornings, I've been able to see her breath.

The clarity of the stars at night, the smell of wood smoke that now wafts across these hills & through our valleys, the stones under my feet as I walk with Diana, stones that even a full day of sunlight won't warm...these all say to me that there will be no more days that can be mistaken for summer.

It is the first day of Autunno....one of those sumptuous Italian days when Terra d'Amore is full of autumn muskiness & tangy, crisp perfection: the sky is vivid blue, the fields are awash in the deepest green, the leaves are exploding in a thousand luminous hues. It is truly an astounding sight to see...where every tree in our landscape has become an individual. When each winding country lane & rolling hillside is suddenly & infinitely splashed with every sharp shade that nature has upon her pallet...flam
