In an act of desperation, Allison signs her life over to an underground organization known only as the Society. There she meets Lucas Darcy, a young man from the wrong side of the tracks. Once inside the facility, both Lucas and Allison are given a series of drugs that enable them to activate a supernatural power. Lucas soon develops the ability to control and manipulate fire, but Allison’s ability lies dormant, which puts her usefulness to the Society—and therefore her life—in jeopardy.
