Jayne Anne Krentz on the Arcane Society

Jayne Ann Krentz' Arcane Society is very similar to Heather Grahams Krewe Of Hunters. Both have characters with paranormal abilities, both have characters that do not embrace their paranormal abilities and try to deny them. Both have a romantic relationship between the two main characters who always try to fight their attraction for each other before finally submitting to their wonton desires and tumble into bed together. And both have multiple murders. Now, don't get me wrong...I enjoy this genre. However, because these two authors write in such similar styles with similar story lines, I sometimes get confused as to who I am reading and have to look at the author while I'm reading the book, lol! I would like to know, who came up with their concept for these series first and if there has ever been any discussion about the similarities of their books between these two authors.
