Funny old film footage and amusing comments, but regarding reading as boring or painful, some of us who are librarians or aspiring librarians beg to differ. We love reading and working with books. Libraries are important elements of communities, with vast resources for those who need them. A person seeking employment must apply via computer; we give them internet access and computer use instruction, allow loan of books on resumes and interview skills, have copiers available as well as workshops, ESL classes, citizenship classes, study skills assistance, homework centers, author events, open mics, and volunteer opportunities which are a valuable addition to CVs.
