message 2: by JG

JG leaving her waking & wise is what we all should want for our girls. somehow it makes me think of what the obama family seems to be able to do for their girls.

lovely animation of the craft of charles vess with the poetry of neil gaiman. i don't know the book but this makes me want to find it & share it widely, especially with a new mom i know...

~ from the mother of the best teen girl in the universe

message 18: by KC

KC The sincerity, wit and integrity of Neil Gaiman is beyond believable. I've forwarded it to my niece with the hope that she passes this along to her true friends.

message 19: by Carol

Carol Recommended reading for all parents of either sex child.
Gorgeous illustrations and spoken words. The older I get, the more I am enthralled with gentleness and beauty-and wisdom. So much of the vulgar and mean-spirited is visible in our culture. We must teach that kindness and beauty are healing and sadly; even possible.

Robin I remember him reading this at a library event 15ish years ago - he asked that we not record it as it was a personal gift; it was written for his goddaughter.

I thanked the day they decided to let it out into the world
