Sharon Kay Penman
Author: Sharon Kay Penman
Very enjoyable to hear Sharon describe her view of some of her characters in a "live" situation. A warm and pleasant interview.
Very much enjoyed listening to this interview. Despite knowing all the while that Sharon is American, her books are so effectively and evocatively written that until now I have "heard" her voice in my head until this moment with an English accent! "Passing strange" as Sharon's characters might say!
I felt the same Janine, but nevertheless lovely to see her and listen to her. I enjoyed this interview so much and have so much admiration for Sharon's knowledge.
She is very articulate and well informed about her subjects. Ms. Penman describes them as if they were her contemporaries - "real" people with virtues and flaws.

Ann-You're so right in that Sharon has a particular talent in enabling readers to see her characters as real people. They come alive and are no longer just names on a page - with feelings, wants, desires, foibles, and failures. She is one of a kind!
