Computer Interview

[close] Strictly speaking, this vaudeo isn't "about t he book, t he referent 4 wch consists of, t he non-materialized transparent punch-outs from a letter/whatever stencil" (my 1st bk) but it was made a few mnths before that 1st bk came out so it's a contemporaneous work.

This is the 1st video (or, as I prefer, vaudeo) I ever made. My friend Steve Estes was shooting a series of interviews w/ friends about computers. The only other 2 that I can remember him shooting were of Bonnie Bonnell & Jane DeSesa. We all chose to be naked. Steve's intention was to edit this footage together - wch, as far as I 'know', he never did - as such, this is probably the only surviving edited residue from this project.

It was shot in the summer of 1977 using a black & white reel-to-reel PortaCam. The location was the bedroom of the 201 year old house I was renting in the Fells Point area of Baltimore at the time. The previous resident had built a loft directly overtop the only bathtub in the house. I'd moved
