Just one more epilogue left!

Also the first epilogue wraps up greatly the lives of the many people you follow throughout the book. The contrasts of Pierre from the beginning of the book to now really show just how much Pierre has learned while trying to find a meaning to his life.

Pierre’s character development throughout the book remains one of my favorite story lines Tolstoy explores. He is a character so caught up in trying to find a meaning to life that he remains blind to all the things around him that constitute living. It isn’t until he is stripped of all social and personal obligations that he realizes life isn’t about finding a meaning, but more so about living moment to moment.
