this book is so devastatingly raw heartbreaking and then all of sudden ellwood will say/think the most ludicrous thing. like THAT detail he chose to acknowledge and saying “had found it ruinously attractive” or “ellwood held out an enthusiastic thumbs up” 😭😭 hes ridiculously down bad
