Tolstoy is a master at portraying the Russian upper classes. I feel that I am a servant with a front row seat to the action.

I carried this around reading it in seventh grade, I was shy then and being able to sink into Tolstoy made life tolerable.

I have had it on my bookshelf for some 25 years and never got to it. Funny, because Anna has been one of my favorite books since my early college days. I was determined this would be the year for W&P an I'm glad I finally took the time to read it.
