“No. That was the you that was. You’re not that guy, not anymore. You’re my guy now, my D, and my D doesn’t kill people.” Argh! Hand me a bucket, please!

The bed creaked as D moved up behind him; he could hear D’s breath scraping in and out in harsh bellow pulls, a faint mumbling beneath it, the heat of his hands on Jack’s hips. He put his head down and tried to relax; then a press and a deep throb and D was inside him. Wait, what? Like that? No foreplay no lube no nothing?

He's freaked out. The bullets and the near-assassination and the fiery gas stations were okay, but the hand-holding freaked him out.

Never even fired a weapon during two years in Desert Storm? Now I find that very hard to believe.

“I’m sorry,” Francisco snapped. “I’ve just never met a professional killer before, and I’m having a little trouble with the degrees of morality here.” Oh Jack, I like you!

Valentina Heart Lol That book ruined me for all other soldier based books. Luckily I read Zero before Special Forces.

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ Lol, I guess I'd rate it lower now after more m/m books read. It was one of my first m/m books and I was so in love with it. I still have a soft D spot.

Mel Yeah SF ruined me forever. I shouldn't be rating anything 5 stars after that one.

I really liked the premise of ZatB, but it went downhill. It's an okay book, but D is so brooding and so silent and so inarticulate, what with his accent and the 'maximum of three words per sentence'-rule, that he's almost... caricaturesque (if that's even a word).
And I liked Jack and liked that he was smart and no damsell in distress type... except then he got really damselly towards the middle of the book. Like thinking D only wanted him for sex and crap like that. Or keep wanting confirmation. And keep wanting to talk all the goddamn time. My god! He's worse than a girl!

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ It's too long. It needed an editor with a stronger resolve. I like spending time with the characters, I like it a lot, but when I am objective, I have to say that the story could be told in half the pages.

Mel Yeah. Honestly: I'm done with the story and I'm at 51%. I'm afraid I might get really bored... :S

Lauraadriana It is too long, totally agree. I'm going through the same thing with Hot Head, what is up with editors these days?!
You should read Josh Lanyon next, I'm not even giving you a reason anymore, i might just start nagging :0)

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ I don't remember who complained about Dreamspinner because they don't edit enough.

Double-nagging for Josh :D

OMG I've read stuff from DSP lately that Bella could have edited better. For real.
And yeah Manu let's gang up on her, it's for her own good anyways!

Mel LOL, you know I'd love to promise you it's JL up next, but me and my book ADD. You never know. Although: Adrien English Mysteries: Fatal Shadows and A Dangerous Thing is beckoning me for a while now. I even put it up as a challenge read. (Hmm, although maybe I should get it off the list since I never read my challenge books anyway...)

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ Mel, off the challenge, please, lol

I quit doing challenges after my ADD got so bad i failef the Pick for Me which is ONE book. So don't put it on the challenge! Put it on the 'Read it so LA will stop nagging me' shelf ;0)

Emanuela ~plastic duck~ I have a Read-it-or-Camila-will-kick-my-ass shelf for my friend Bookwatcher's recommended books :)
