I liked how they all banded together to look after one another in these awful circumstances. The ending was surprisingly nicer than I was expecting and I liked how Luke escaped and had the game plan but Tim really came through in protecting them which is what they needed to heal, an adult protecting them. Luke staying to live with Tim was nice. Pretty cool for my first leap into Stephen King’s work.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that I enjoyed this book, but it was very good. It really sucked you in. I liked the start with Tim and then the real big shift to Luke. The institute was really pretty horrible and those poor kids had a rough time. But Luke was excellent and I liked that he succeeded not because of his psychic abilities but because of his smarts. I mostly liked all of the kids.

Man it does really suck you in. I’m rooting for Luke so much. I didn’t love basically anything that happened at the institute but I do think that section needed to be that long so that it feels impactful for him to finally make his escape! He’s on his way to crossing over with Tim which I’m keen for.

It is definitely giving me the creepy school from Alex rider vibes. And I’m also a bit bummed that Tim isn’t in it again till page 300 because I really like him. I just feel really bad for poor Luke and the rest of the kids and I literally trust no one.
