Really struggling with the pretentiousness of this book at the moment. Reading it for school but it is just so YA and so not my cup of tea. Its so like the teenage ramblings I wrote in my diary aged 16... maybe I'm just too old for it.

I understand that the story is an important one to tell, of Amber and her family, but the verse is just jarring with me and totally taking me out of the story.
