What's really pissing me off now is the idea that any insurgent resistance could exist ANYWHERE which did not rely on contact with and favor of local civilians. See also: Defiance.

I'm really enjoying the alternative history of this novel, but, come on. Like the British would have been THAT much better treated than the Soviets? Like really, for real?
